TotallyOz Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 I get a lot of great information from this site and it always makes my trips to Thailand better in so many ways. When I ask for help and advice, I am always given great info. Last year, I got into a discussion with bkkguy about Nespresso machines and the capsules they need to work and he gave me the name of a website in Thailand that delivers these to your home. I have used it often and today I placed yet another order for some special blended limited edition coffee capsules that I love. The website is: http://nespresso-thailand.com/ The site offers fast delivery and very easy paypal checkout. Thank you bkkguy for this wonderful find. I truly appreciate it! Quote
Guest jomtien Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Perhaps you should give the Nespresso machine to me before you blow it up like your Vitamix. Quote
bkkguy Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 glad you are enjoying your Nespresso Michael, I still think it is one of the best options on the market today - I can make a better latte at home by pressing two buttons than I can get at most of the cafes and restaurants around Silom! just got my latest order today (only placed it Wednesday!) including some of the new Vanilio, Ciocattino and Trieste blends - my taste buds are panting just at the thought of trying them! I just wish Thailand would cut its import duty on coffee and we might start getting capsules at the more reasonable prices seen in surrounding countries! bkkguy TotallyOz 1 Quote
TotallyOz Posted September 14, 2013 Author Posted September 14, 2013 I agree that the coffee is delicious. I have friends from USA and EU that visit my apartment and they always say they want a cup and to try a new flavor. The cost for each capsule is about 30 baht which comes to about 1USD per cup. When I am in USA, I will bring some over and they are much cheaper. I think I buy for about 1/2 that price in USA. But, it is well worth it IMHO. And, the lattes from my machine are frothy and yummy. There are many different flavors and I have found I like the purple and black containers the best. The purple is: Arpeggio "INTENSE AND CREAMY: A dark roast of pure South and Central American Arabicas, Arpeggio has a strong character and intense body, enhanced by cocoa notes." The black is: Ristretto "POWERFUL AND CONTRASTING: A blend of South American and East African Arabicas, with a touch of Robusta, roasted separately to create the subtle fruity note of this full-bodied, intense espresso." @Jomtien: I have put in my will that you get the Nespresso and the Vitamix should I quietly past into the great sky beyond this realm. However, a clause was placed in the will that should I die of questionable circumstances that all items are to be burned with me. Quote
Rogie Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 You're right Michael, the Thai coffees are about twice the price we pay here in England too. Here we pay about £0.30 per capsule - that's about 15 baht. They also do three 'pure origin' coffees which are only about 10% more expensive: POWERFUL AND SPICY: Indriya from India is the noble marriage of Arabicas with a hint of Robusta from southern India. It is a full-bodied espresso, which has a distinct personality with notes of spices. FRUITY AND BALANCED: Rosabaya de Colombia: This blend of fine, individually roasted Colombian Arabicas, develops a subtle acidity with typical red fruit and winey notes. SWEET AND SMOOTH: A pure Arabica coffee, Dulsão do Brasil is a delicate blend of red and yellow Bourbon beans with a distinctive note of toasted grain. The beans are treated semi-dry to allow the mucillage sugars to infuse the bean with a mellow flavour, then separately roasted to reveal an elegantly balanced satiny sweet flavour with a note of toasted grain.
