Sunday Brunch Buffet's in Thailand

Recommended Posts

Posted

I may end up trying some of the better Sunday Brunch buffets in Bangkok. I would love any suggestions. The only two I know I want to test is:

Plaza Athenee Bangkok, A Royal Meridien Hotel: The Rain Tree Cafe

Four Seasons

Any others would be greatly appreciated. And, if anyone is in town and wants to spend more money that a buffet is really worth, let me know and we can try out a place.

You are rather opening Pandora’s box in terms of cash! BKK has loads of excellent Sunday brunches at a variety of different prices. If you are really hungry and want the best, almost nothing will beat the brunch at the Sukhothai Colonnade restaurant. Here’s the sample menu. If you can eat anywhere near 5% of the dishes on offer, I’ll be amazed!

But there’s a jazz band to accompany brunch, which can make conversation difficult if you are seated near the stage.

Same with the superb brunch at the Sheraton Grande on Sukhumvit. Personally I’m not crazy about the ‘live’ music, but I have never failed to gorge myself silly at the excellent brunch (the first review here gives it 5 stars).

On a Sunday I find it makes a nice change to get down to the river. The Peninsula has as good a brunch as any, and friends tell me the Hilton’s Flow is also very good.

Incidentally, if you like cheeses, the Hilton has a special and separate cheese buffet with as big an assortment of cheeses as you will find anywhere in Thailand, all in a thermostatically controlled room.

There’s lots more info on this site, but it is almost 18 months out of date. So I’d add a good 10% or so to the prices.
