Guest fountainhall Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 With all the chat about pizzas and what some like to see on them and others don’t, I’ll put in a small plug for a lovely French-stye bistro restaurant Crêpes & Co.This was first established in a simple building with a garden terrace on Sukhumvit Soi 12. It was a favourite of mine and served a mouth-watering array of all sorts of crêpes. Indeed, the main menu was almost exclusively crêpes for starters, main courses and, of course, desserts. Then the owner decided to expand into more Mediterranean cuisine – especially Spanish, Greek and Moroccan – which was highlighted on blackboards rather than on the menus themselves. One dish which every guest I ever took there raved about was the starter of shrimps cooked Spanish-style in oil and garlic.Last year the Suk 12 restaurant had to close when the lease expired. It is now located in an old wooden Thai-style house on the left side of Lang Suan as you come down from Chidlom BTS station. A new branch has now been opened in Thonglor Soi 8. There is also one in Hua Hin. So popular has been the concept that there is a Crêpes & Co. in Shanghai and more outside Thailand are planned. My only complaint is that the portions can seem small, so you may find yourself ordering an additional main dish. It does a great Sunday brunch, though, for Bt. 490+ that includes fresh juices and many of the usual brunch items. Quote
