Guest PattayaPlayers Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 The Pattaya Players are busy preparing for three upcoming productions and need your support! On Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 6:30 PM, there will be an open audition call for anyone interested in portraying a role in this year's Christmas Panto, "Goldilocks and the Three Bears." On Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 7:30 PM, the troupe will be performing a Pattaya first: a five course wine dinner experience featuring a production entitled "Dionysus and the Three Goddesses." And finally, the busy thespians of Pattaya Players are searching for volunteers to help with their Fifth Annual Haunted Halloween event at Thai Polo Club on Saturday, October 27, 2012. The open call audition for "Goldilocks and the Three Bears," written and directed by Ray Lightbown will take place at The Eastern Grand Palace Hotel on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 6:30 PM. This laugh-a-minute, physical comedy retelling of the old favorite fairy tale with a traditional British Panto twist. The audience is encouraged to join in the fun and the acting is over the top with fun and jokes suitable for all ages! There are 9 parts for 1 female, 2 males and 5 actors of either sex all with varying ages. The production will be a travelling one (hitting various different venues), with the following show dates: November 16, 17 & 30 and December 1, 2, 7 & 8. Character Descriptions (please note that casting ages are flexible): Goldie – A dumb blonde (“younger” woman) Mrs. Lox – Her mother (maybe man in drag or older female actor) PC Arfer Mow – Policeman (a man of any age) Fairy Nuff – A Fairy (could be male or female) Duke Bjorn – Daddy Bear (grumpy and argumentative older man) Duchess Ursula – Mummy Bear (man in drag or female actor) Lord Edward – Baby Bear, Teddy (a “younger” male) Chip & Chop – two woodcutters (female and male respectively or two males) On October 13, 2012, the Pattaya Players in conjunction with Indian By Nature will be hosting a fine wine and dine event featuring a custom-created production of "Dionysus and the Three Goddesses," written by local playwright, Ray Lightbown. The comedic skits, modeled around the fun and frivolous God of Wine and his female, desirous deities will be the center piece for an evening of high chic, Indian gastronomy paired with a delectable dabbling of fine wines. This wining and dining theatrical experience is the first of its kind in Pattaya and promises all attendees a night not to be forgotten. The price of the evening is 1750+ Baht per person and includes the show, full five-course meal and six wines, including a fine white Portugal Port to round off the evening. Finally, Pattaya Players are currently searching for volunteers who can come to help us out with our annual fundraising event on Saturday, October 27, 2012 from 5:00 to 10:00 PM at Thai Polo Club. This is a very important event for us, as it allows us the budget to be able to put on the quality performances you have come to enjoy. Please consider helping out -- either as a ghost in our "House of the Undead" or as a volunteer running one of our games or collecting tickets for one of our rides. Also, we need strong individuals to help us with the constructing and deconstructing of our "House of the Undead." WE NEED MANY, MANY volunteers and would appreciate *YOUR* help! If you are interested, please email us at pattayaplayers@gmail.com. Also note, that this volunteerism can be used for CAS hours if you are a secondary student in one of the area International Schools. Quote
