Guest fountainhall Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Many people use Sathorn Soi 1 to get to Babylon or the Malaysia and Ibis hotels. That soi is presently undergoing major roadworks for the installation of new sewers and there has been no daytime access for vehicles from Sathorn for the last 3 days. Vehicles therefore have to access from the other direction - by going down Sathorn to Suan Phlu and then turning left in to the bottom part of Soi Ngamduphli. Either that or come in from the Rama IV entrance to Ngamduphli Walking along today, I noticed that only 60 meters of piping has been laid, and there are no more pipe units at the roadside. This may mean the soi will open tomorrow for a few days before being closed again - perhaps over the weekend. At this rate, though, I'd expect one-way operation on some days per week over the next few weeks. Quote

Rogie Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 If he's the sailorman of my dreams I wouldn't mind being the one who gives him his medal. (There, that's about as short a post as I can make, I'm hopelessly incapable of succintness). Quote
Guest thaiworthy Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 You're both wrong. It's Spanish. c-c, which means "Yes!" Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 The roadworks on Sathorn Soi 1 continue at a snail's pace, and it's clear they will continue for another four weeks, at least. Just when drivers seemed to have got the hang of the one-way operation and only entering from the Ngamduphlee end, today, inexplicably, I noticed that the powers-that-be have reversed the traffic flow. You can now enter from Sathorn and not from the other end. But be warned. The jams in Soi 1, the junction at Ngamduphlee and on Soi Goethe at 5:00 pm today were as bad as I have ever seen them. Worse than in heavy rain, and today was a bright, sunny afternoon! Quote
