Guest thaiworthy Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 The Gay Thailand forum looks different. It appears to have a new "skin." There is also reference to the IPS Community. What does that mean? Some well-meaning folk will often say "If it ain't broke, why fix it?" Was something broken? At least this explains why I couldn't access this forum last night. Comments, anyone? Any new bells and whistles we should know about? Is this a work in progress? Looks good, so far. Everything still seems functional except that I can't log out. There is a button inside the forum as before, but it doesn't work. It says "Sign Out." I have to go to the very front, outside of the forum in order to do that successfully. That button says "Log Out" and that still works. The skin appears blue, below the same familiar warm-hued banner that contains the logo "Gay Thailand." Might I add an editorial comment? Cool colors and warm colors don't mix and it looks awkward. Perhaps that is meant for a reason or perhaps everything isn't finished yet. Just an observation. I'll bet Moses could offer a tip or two. Otherwise, I guess change is a good thing. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 I like the new look. I agree with Thaiworthy about the orange/brown-ish masthead clashing with the cooler blue. I hope that also changes. to the new colour. I have found only one problem. If I log-in, then log-off again, I cannot find the click box when I next want to long in, I have to get in using 'My Account'. Quote
TotallyOz Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 I am glad you like the new look. There was nothing broken about the old software but we have to keep updated on the forum software as there are often security vulnerabilities in older versions. This is the exact same system but was only an upgrade. IPS stands for Invision Power Services I think. That is the board software. I am sorry this was down for a bit but I was trying to upgrade the software myself and I was having some issues. I then asked for help from the software company and other friends to get all the things in place. I hope all the kinks have been worked out but if anyone sees any issues, please let us know. We have hired a team to redesign the entire site and will be rolling out new features on the front end in the coming months. Thank you for your support of Gay Thailand community! Quote
Guest Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Improved points: Fresh look. Websited do benefit from the occaisional refresh. Worse points: Overview of threads. Under the previous layout if I selected "View New Content", more threads were visible on one screen and the Forum in which the thread was placed was clearly visible in it's own column. Quote

You can now click the "Sign Out" button and you are indeed truly logged out. Good work, Scooby! Quote
