AIS123 WIFI @ AIRPORT

[sorry, title should read AIS12Call]

After utilising my 15 minutes of free airport wifi, I noticed AIS offered a wifi service (BKK).

Just enter your AIS phone number & a few seconds later, they e-mail a password. Works well up to this point. A few minutes later, another e-mail arrives thanking you for the subscription & stating this will cost 25 baht a month. Possibly good value for people who may use this several times a year.

What they don't say is how to cancel the subscription!

Logging onto their e-service also only gives me options to subscribe to MORE services, but doesn't have a cancellation option. The call centre no is 1175, which I doubt will work from abroad.......

I eventually found one of those "contact us forms", so lets see what happens yet. The automated e-mail promises a reply within 24 hours.

Of course it's illogical to get concerned about a small monthly fee, but the principle of easy sign up & difficult cancellation stinks.

My credit expires in mid January, so this isn't going to break the bank. However, I was hoping to keep this phone number, as it's an easy one for me to remember.

On the topic of AIS12CALL, the customer has the option of selecting "International Roaming". That appears to be free & it is probably a good idea to activate this option when in Thailand.

My BF has been complaining about 1-2-call for awhile now. He started some type of services with them for his phone number and now cannot get them to stop.

He has called their call center several times to have them cancel all extra subscriptions, etc. but still complains that they are charging him for things. His credit gets used up pretty quickly.

He has talked about just abandoning the SIM card and starting over. Not the optimal solution when so many people know your phone number...

Good luck.

Success! (I think)

Filled in the form on their website asking to cancel the service. Received an SMS within 2 hours stating this has been cancelled.

Anone, has your boyfriend tried a more assertive approach?

If I had the same problem your BF had in the UK, the second call to the call centre would be a formal complaint, with threat of moving the business elsewhere AND a request to refund all charges made since the original cancellation request.

I would also consider visiting one of their shops and not leaving until a solution has been found.
