I'd go back to Bali in a second, but they also don't allow Emergency Passports 🙄 I don't understand why, although Labeled Emergency Passport, it has a 1 year validity, beyond the 6 month's countries require and has 6 empty pages for stamps/visas... Thailand didn't bat an eye or question anything when I arrived last night and gave 60 days to stay. The Visa guy at the Indian Embassy in Laos said that emergency documents are given to go directly back to my country.... I showed him the empty visa pages inside and he said he's not familiar with that. This "Emergency Passport" is what's given to US citizens if your passport is ever lost/stolen. SO be aware that if you're in the middle of your travel plans or a worldwide trip, it could be interrupted and you're expected to go home by some places.... Also, very little information available to know which countries accept this passport or not, just a couple of stories on the internet of people telling of their denied entry situations... or you might risk not being allowed on your flight because not even the airlines know either. Paid $48 a night these 2 night with b'fast... last week $38 a night, what a bargain. I used to be in the hotel business and can get rates somewhere around this at Hilton Millennium or a little more at the Conrad... both excellent hotels where I'd also get Diamond benefits and very nice room upgrades, I know the operations manager at Conrad..... but I prefer the Tarntawan for all the listed reasons, but mostly location.
