Popular Post ichigo Posted March 15 Popular Post Posted March 15 It has come to my attention that a new sauna in the Surawong area has recently opened. Aptly called 1/0 Sauna (for those who may not know, in Chinese gay slang, 1=top, 0=bottom). Not sure what the clientele is, but if anyone is on the ground and is into saunas, a report would be much appreciated! reader Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Walked by what appears to be location tonight at 12:35 am. directly opposite Meridien Hotel in alley beside Urban Thai Massage. unable to locate any sign but a group of Thai guys were just leaving what looks like upper floor exit. They were all dressed in black shirts and shorts that suggested staff. ichigo, vinapu and TMax 2 1 Quote
vaughn Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Looks like they spent some money on the fitout, the photos on instagram look nice and location being directly across from LM couldn't be better. The real test will be if they can attract a local crowd or will prices dictate a tourist only venue. I'll check it out on my next visit in a month or so and report back. ichigo and FunFifties 2 Quote

Their entry prices can be see on their instagram poster: There's a 100 baht discount for the month of March, but otherwise entry will be 400/600 baht. The notable thing about the poster is the fact that it is in English and Chinese. No Thai. My guess, going by its choice of location and language, is that its target market may be the East Asian tourists that have some free time in the evenings before going to Silom Soi 2 to dance the night away. Another thing I noticed after clicking the Google Map link provided by @ichigo, is the way it declares itself as "LGBTQ+ friendly". This is kind of careless language that one often sees in Thailand, where "LGBTQ+" is used loosely, maybe because they somehow think "katoey" or "gay" is perjorative. It is misleading advertising. The place is for men. It says so on their same instagram homepage (https://www.instagram.com/10saunabkk/) : The newest Queer-Owned and Operated Private Man’s Sauna and Social Club. They would have no problem if a straight guy went in. They wouldn't even know he's straight, and anyway he could be anywhere on the bisexuality spectrum. But I can see 1/0 Sauna denying entry to a bunch of nine lesbians demanding admission. They shouldn't say "LGBTQ+ friendly" when they are not. 10tazione, bkkmfj2648, vaughn and 2 others 2 3 Quote

I think it will make it the most expensive in Bangkok (even more expensive than Keybox in Singapore). Mania charges that only during Songran and White Party nights. If it doesn't offer a lower price to locals, like most saunas in Bangkok do, it will almost exclusively be populated with tourists and judging from their name and poster they are going for the Chinese crowd, which is not an easy one to win over. Good facilities by itself won't cut it. It has to at least throw nightly events combined with a good pool of sexy performers that interact with the crowd like Mania, R3, Chakran and Krubb do. Will be curious to see the length of the crowd in Mania this Songran compared with the massive one last year. Quote

macaroni21 Posted March 17 Posted March 17 I think I know what "piggy bank" is - glory holes, but is "the cage"? Also interesting is that there is scrub room on the Level 1. Might there be a scrub service as is commonly found in traditional Chinese bathhouses? Hmmm.... Quote
spoon Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Could it be just that, a cage? 3 hours ago, macaroni21 said: I think I know what "piggy bank" is - glory holes, but is "the cage"? I wonder if they will charge extra for the private rooms. They are definitely trying to attract with that so called relaxation room (seen by the end of that TikTok video) the crowd of local guys living far from Silom who are looking for a place to crash on weekends after partying at DJ, GOD and Rush.
