Certainly

I approached them once about Chinese NY, asking whether experiencing the event requires 1 or 2 or 3 days, and what might an itinerary look like.

I was told I first had to contract one of the guides for a set number of days; only then an itinerary would be prepared.

They insisted on this procedure even after I had explained that I can't decide how many days I want, because I don't know whether there are things to see or do on all 3 days or only on 2 or 1.

This went back and forth, until I gave up.   )-:

Well how would they know how to set a  itinerary if they don't know how many days you want?

Should of just said 2 days and see what they came back with

If you don't know how many days you want, then how Siamroads may reserve guide for you?

- Hello, I would like to buy coffee
- Hello, would you like a small, medium or large cup?
- I don't know
- ...

With Siamroads everything starts from choosing your guide and putting your reservation to the calendar of your guide. If guide has time for you - he will confirm, if not - then he will decline. Easy.

When I visit a place with known attractions, I can set a number of days I wish to spend there. When I don't know if there ARE attractions, I posed a simple request: "please tell me whether there are things to see and do only on the day itself or also on the other two, and if there are - what are they". To me it seems logical and legitimate.

Having contracted guides or agencies in other countries, I don't recall being faced with a similar pre-condition.

I didn't mean this thread to develop into an analysis of that failed interaction. I have no complaints against Siam Roads; it's a respectable business, and is of course entitled to set its own rules. I mentioned it only in order to avoid the obvious referrals.

The main task of the guide is not to show everything that the city has to offer to the client. Siamroads gives the solo traveler the opportunity to not feel lonely and makes days in the city not boring. That's why Siamroads guides are called companions.

When you book a companion's time, no one except you knows how many days you plan to be in the city and how many days you want to explore the city with someone who knows it.

Siamroads is not about ready-made excursion programs, it’s about how to spend time traveling without loneliness and in an interesting way.
And attractions and interests are discussed with the guide after reservation.

More than half of Siamroads orders are not for visiting temples at all - they are for shopping, walking, visiting restaurants, massages and clubs. And only you know how many days you want to spend.

Since day reservations do not require immediate payment upon checkout, the easiest way to get what you want is to place an order for one day, get the guide's consent, discuss with him what and how you want to do in the city and then add the missing days if your travel schedule is flexible. And if it is not flexible, then even more so - you know exactly how many days you will be in this place.
