I watched the 1st episode of S3 of The White Lotus on HBO and looking forward to episode #2 tomorrow.

Many of you actually live in Thailand, right?  Is this show airing there?  Is there any reaction in Thailand?

I love it.  The music.  The vibe.  The scenery and culture.

I watched the first two episodes, and loved it.   Just like the first two seasons.

The reviews I read said it starts off slow.  True.  Most people love Mike White's take on the world, and his twisted plots and characters.  I sure do.  So if you love it, the slow start seems to work.  A few professional reviews on Metacritic trashed it for the same reasons.  

The one thing I miss, as an ex-hooker, is the sex focus of season two.  The Theo James quartet of sexy young husbands and wives was fun.  As were the two sweet hookers.  There is no equivalent.  I guess Patrick Schwarzenegger will have to do.

S3 is setting up a bumpy road for multiple characters. 

Belinda recognized Gary/Greg. 

Tim might be complicit in a federal crime. 

Rick seems to be spiraling.  

Rick thinks Chloe is a hookah.

What TF is Mook up to?

What is REALLY the story with the 3 blonds?  

One might wonder if epi 4 will drop some solid clues.

Epi 3 told us in Victoria's dream that

"this is what it looks like before a tsunami."

Victoria running out of Lorazepam can't be good.  Will she go insane and make Tim a Pong Pong smoothie?

I wonder why Gary is talking to Fabian.   Gary is not a guest.  Belinda knows he went by the name Greg in Hawaii.

Zion is due to arrive.  He and Lochlan seem so innocent.  They ought to buddy up and get away from the rest of these losers.

But Zion not arriving yet, and watching the 3 blondes gyrating is getting old.

And Lochlan kissing Saxon when it could have been Zion 😦.

I love that phrase.   I have four brothers, and I am Gay.   Somehow I think I missed my potential.  🤮

But the question of the moment is:   is Lochlan an incestuous demon twink?  Part of the fun with White Lotus is speculating about things Mike White implies, but does not say.

I have been following this Reddit thread that every week has a long discussion about the current episode.   It's fun.  People post things about the use of colors or symbols that I missed, or explain Thai cultural references that go over almost everyone's head.

But someone this week started a lively discussion about whether meek and mild Lochy is the real predator, who pressured his hot brother to take some molly and make himself vulnerable to ......... I guess we'll see next week.  Maybe just a kiss.  Maybe more.   So now there is all kinds of speculation about whether evil Gay Lochy is actually Gay, and actually evil.   And will he take down his brother with a cum-filled, or poison-filled shake?  (They are two different things, right?)  😉

Meanwhile, my sweet Straight sister-in-law told me her theory tonight:  Lochlan is just a sweet kid who needs to be heard.  She is probably right.  Because Sam Nivola said just about that in an interview:   Lochy is just seeking attention, desperately.   And he does say this plot twist changes everything.   So maybe he finds his voice.   Or his cock.  Or the gun.  We'll see.

Not to introduce a spoiler, but it is true that in the first two seasons the evil Gays were at the center of the murder that happened. That seemed impossible this season, since there is no one at least openly Gay.  But Lochy and Fabian both emerged as dark horse candidates this week, I think.  Even though we don't know yet whether they actually are Gay.

I love it that Mike White, a Gay liberal like me, is just ripping the shit out of evil Gays and elitist liberals  ..... and conservatives.  It takes away some of the sting of Trump and MAGA trying to roll back the clock to 1980's racism and homophobia.

Saxon and Lochlan are a head scratcher.  I tend to agree with your sister-in-law, Lochlan is sweet, although I wonder why he kidded Saxon when he said "someday I will take you down?"  Also, could Saxon be a closet case?  He's 30 years old and unattached, and seems to be overcompensating about being manly.  Finally, in one scene when Lochlan was walking away, Saxon said "I love you."  So yeah, those two are a head scratcher.

Mike White may never show the specifics of happened between those two.   We do know that they ended up wearing each others beach shorts the morning after.  But we are running out of episodes, so I expect Mike White wants to leave things to our imagination. 

We still need to learn the Gary/Greg scenario.  How did he end up at all three White Lotus resorts?   Also, Rick and Tim both need to sort their shit out. 

The three blondes are a hot mess.  How much more of that do we need?  Yes, it's a good point how the two libs are treating Kate.  Mike White must have seen a lot of that behavior growing up.  His dad wrote speeches for the fundies, like Fallwell.

I have given up hope of seeing Zion buddy up with Lochlan or with anyone for that matter.  

I hope Zion at least gets a nice massage.  😁
