Pattaya City officials have deployed five trucks to collect seaweed that has washed ashore at Krating Rai Beach. The large amounts of seaweed, causing rot and odor, have distressed local residents.

Now I do not feel alone - as we also had a BIG green algae seaweed invasion here in Boracay as reported in my Philippines Cebu trip report some days ago.

I live across the road from the beach and seaweed is a problem, usually in winter.

It stinks and we can't walk on the beach.

We solved the problem by paying for a clean up as soon as the seaweed appears.
