12is12 Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Jason, is this "guys with excellant English" specific to FB? If so, why? In all bars I went to, I asked mamasan to call guy with best english. None of the guys spoke more than VERY basic.... A conversationalist would earn a lot from me.... Quote
sudoxi Posted February 20 Posted February 20 When I visited bangkok for the first time, I tried the bars. I found if I asked the mamasan at any club I went to for someone that has decent English I wasn’t disappointed. I offed most from freshboys and had no issues. I liked the fresh boys show the best however all the shows are repetitive so I enjoyed visiting the different bars to see the different shows, banana room has a lot of drag performers, it’s not something I hate, while a couple times they lip synced to English songs they didn’t know. When they lip synced to Thai songs they really shined. a lot here saying the mamasan at fresh boys can be pushy. I didn’t have a problem with her really, I just stated. I’m looking for now I will let you know when someone interests me, and she left me alone for the most part. I think just don’t be afraid to be assertive. If you are indecisive they may be more inclined to keep checking in and try to get you to buy a boy a drink or off a boy. Quote

My personal experience is to go for someone from Myanmar, they tend to have the best grasp of English for a simple conversation without requiring Google translate. bkkmfj2648 and Raposa 2 Quote

I just happen to have the good luck to encounter guys who speak excellent English at FB. They are older in late 20s having worked in Thailand for many years hence acquiring English language Quote
ggobkk Posted February 21 Posted February 21 FB Mamasan is very welcoming if she recognizes you as more than a first timer. That said, she is a pussycat compared to Mama Lucy. reader 1 Quote

jason1975 Posted February 22 Posted February 22 My regular guy (#25) went back to Vietnam to celebrate Tet for one month. When he returned to Bangkok to work, he coudn't get his number back as the bar gave his number to another guy during the time he was away. He is #13 now. I hope it is not an unlucky number! Popular Post gtnewb Posted March 16 Author Popular Post Posted March 16 A much belated report. So I was in the area earlier than planned (8+) and had lots of time to kill... While walking around and the movie crew was still in the area filming Some doubt started to creep into me while check out the spot.. Is "Fresh Boy" the same as "Fresh Boys"? I don't want to go to a wrong show.... so maybe i should skip "Fresh Boy"? Eventually, after walking around the entire area, it was CARPE DIEM and made my way up I was early... The show was to start at 10 and I was there with 80 mins to kill.... Sat down, got a coke or something, and was pleasantly surprised by the boys on stage... I started making notes on my phone.... The rotation went on for a while but it was interesting to witness what they were doing off stage.. as well as on stage.... Most were young and fit... some where older and as somebody pointed out, they are in FB presumably for the show component.... Some tried to make eye contact but what I really didnt like was the mamasan getting touchy with the boys on stage... like she's taxing them.. of cos shes doing it as marketing but one would imagine she's also asking for more from the boys off stage/behind the scene.... as a customer, she was fine.. she did a courtesy ask the whole night and didnt approach otherwise.... when i wanted somebody to sit with me, i signalled the other mamasan and he was did his job drinks 400 thb.. i think it was mentioned that second drink costs less... so i had the (wrong) impression that boy's drinks are not 400.. but they are so after a while of studying the system, the boys, the crowd, it was time for the show and tbh, the show quickly got monotonous even for a first timer.... the d*ck hitting pole was 100% unnecessary so the room was fairly crowded... the front row was full.... the area on the right (when facing the stage) was starting to fill up so big shot had asked 5-6 boys to sit with him and he off-ed all of them.... the only reason why i took notice was that the mms was at the cashier trying to sort out all the charges and that took a while .... that's it for a quick report..... so it was fun chatting with the boy (no off) .... a little touchy touchy and there was even a show and (no) tell and it was a good night of fun.... time flies when you are having fun.... didnt wait for the last show and left to take the BTS back to the hotel... last last note: when they give you change, they deliberately break up notes and give you coins..... one would say that since you do it that way, i shoulnd't reward bad behaviour and leave the coins for them.. which is exactly their intention... but i was naive/forgiving/happy i left them the coins, just as they intended... oh well... jamiebee, reader, yp11 and 5 others 8 Quote

That way hope is they wont be able to play the same trick on somebody else due to eventual shortage of coins. all those coins , while heavy are easily spendable at 7/11 on the way to hotel Ruthrieston and gtnewb 2 Quote

Because the boys receive 100 baht commission on each drink a customer buoys for them, the credit has to be carefully credited to their number at time check is settled. This can take some time when more than one boy is involved. Good to hear you had a good time. BL8gPt and gtnewb 2 Quote

I have noticed that if the bar invested in QR technology (like in X-Boys Pattaya) the check is settled rather quickly because they just need to scan the various boy QR codes and then the paper receipt is automatically printed. easy-peasy Quote

I assume, at the end of the business hour, they can surrender the ticket to claim their portion. Equally quick system without making a fuss for customer at pay time. Good boy is one bar that i saw this system is used. Quite funny story, because when this happens in front of me, my boy have no idea whats the paper is for, and the mamasan had to explain to him quickly. Either its his first time getting a drink from customer or the system is newly implemented, im not sure. But i do know he is newish to the bar, moved to goodboy from one of the massage place in soi 6. Quote

And the ticket is transferable, so a lad being off'd, confident of 2000bt plus later, may give it to the mamasan to keep them onside. Quote

Last night, i was surprised they have crispy new bills. As expected, part of my change consists of 2 50baht bills. I guess to make it easier for us to tip them. Another pleasant surprise with Xboys pattaya, was the guys didn't come around for tips except for the coupling pair and the bboy group. vinapu 1 Quote
