( Somebody sarcastic may mention that there was not much shame or remorse in his country after George W invaded Iraq under false 'weapon of mass destruction " pretext ) I was responding to Olddaddy's exact statement: "Russians generally mind their own business." This applies to all Russian people, despite the context of his comment. We know that @Olddaddy is not very observant or careful about most things. He's often not careful about what and how he writes, so I wasn't sure which Russians he was talking about. He should have specifically written "The Russian tourists in Phuket generally mind their own business." The Russians in Bali (and, I'm sure, many other destinations) certainly don't "generally mind their own business." And because we know all too well how a majority of Russian citizens feel about Putin's war, I made the analogy. Being specific is important -- especially for those men like @Olddaddy, who have prematurely entered the land of the hazy and semi-conscious . 🥰 khaolakguy 1 Quote

But I recall when Russians started coming to Thailand en masse probably around 15 years ago. Then there were few if any flights from Russia directly to Phuket. So the passengers had to change at BKK. I lost count of the number of times I would be in a queue when a large number of Russians would suddenly appear - I assume from a nearby security check - and immediately barge into the queue near the front. This upset a lot of other passengers. jamiebee, Marc in Calif, gerefan and 1 other 4 Quote

What finally got the media's attention was "One incident saw four Israelis break into and vandalise Pai Hospital's emergency room." Pai used to be great fun. So laid-back. It sounds like the Israeli invasion has turned it into a real crap hole, though. Quote
