It was one of her most popular policy proposals. But having let it die in 2022, I think a lot of people believed Democrats simply will not fight for them. Stewart just had Hakeem Jeffries on his Weekly Show. Jeffries spoke eloquently about how Democrats need to relearn to fight for the working class. Then he went and had a meeting with rich Silicon Valley tech donors to talk about "mending fences". Those are not either/or. But Ruy is right.
