My impression- and I have no evidence of this- is that, putting aside the high-high season around Christmas, over the years the difference in tourist numbers has been less pronounced. Maybe the influx of Asians? Or the utter confusion surrounding Covid? At any rate, when I was visiting as a punter, I never took much notice; most of my activities were indoors!

I love the "ghost town look " in June July 

Sometimes I sit outside the bar and look at the lonely street and imagine that cactus ball you see is rolling down the street

Actually, most of the sex tourism industry ceases to exist apart from a brief moment in time in which you visit.

in both bkk and pattaya the season is between nov and may?

My observations for the gay scene :

• Early December to Mid Feb=> High Season, this takes in Christmas and both Western and Chinese New Year
• After that things quieten down but have a decent bump at Easter and Songkran in mid April
• Small Bump in tourist numbers in July and August due to European summer holidays, noticeably more so first 2 weeks of august
• Small bumps in tourist numbers at Loy Kratong, Fireworks festival,White Parties, the various gay prides etc.

Looking at Pattaya in general over the last few years, there is only really a low season on the gay scene, elsewhere there is a High and Mid Season. The numbers of people travelling, shopping in malls, occupying restaurants, songtaews and hotels are pretty constant outside High Season.

I was in Thailand in all months bar March and April and why I notice some difference between season, for my personal use it' s only minor variation between high and low seasons. Nothing really which influence my decision whether and when to go

I have been to Thailand at least a dozen times. Last year I was in Bangkok in June and December and never noticed much difference. Beach resorts like Pattaya the difference would be more pronounced.

Opinions about going at Songkran time varies but I guess it's best to use my own, often dispensed advice, and just go and try myself. Economically for me it's not a good option but for fun one needs to forget  about income from time to time I guess.

In Pattaya, the gay sex season is pronounced between high and low seasons. In high season Boyztown and Jomtien Complex are busy, in low season they are moribund.
