Also, if you are coming to Kyoto and want a central place to stay where guests are not a problem, I’m staying at the Prince Smart Inn Kyoto Sanjo. Rooms are big and have wonderful showers and of course an amazing Japanese toilet. Breakfast was included, and they have laundry facilities. The front desk is not often manned, but when someone is there, they don’t seem to really pay attention to who is coming and going. Yeah, I figured I’d try the shop the first time. I have a guy coming here on Sunday because it’s supposed to rain. Also, got the guy’s name wrong- it’s Ukyo.

Yeah, I too prefer to host in my hotel since these shops' rooms tend to be too basic. The problem is that few hotels allow joiners, so it's always good to know of hotels that don't mind guests.
