off-fees

hello:   I am planning a trip to Pattaya and curious about the off-fees paid to the bar -I cannot find any discussion on this but a lot about off-fees in Bangkok.  As noted by many, it is currently 500 Baht in Bangkok - is it the same price in Pattaya (say, in Boyz Boyz Boyz)?   Thank you.

It varies from bar to bar. X-boys is 800, Dreamboys I think is 500, but I think BoyzBoyzBoyz is more expensive though.

1050 is kind of an odd number - not sure about the "logic" of 50 (good thing is, it is not 1500).  I supposed the "standard" tip for the boy is 3000 baht (like in Bangkok) - otherwise, please reply.  Thanks.

Exactly this is what I was quoted by Mamasan Lek when I was there with 18past19  in August.

and for this exorbitant off fee - you get the following because of the current amended modus operandi:

• guys standing on the stage fully clothed,
• not much of a show,
• loud music at decibels that could be damaging to your auditory system,
• screaming Asian ladies that call down the guys to sit and drink with them - where often either the customer or stage guy gets so hammered that they might need assistance to go to the bathroom to vomit (I saw it with my own eyes on my last visit).

so, I would say, if you do not like the above program - then head over to X-Boys Pattaya - just 2 sois (streets) over from Boyztown to see a really exciting show with skin, nakedness, and f#$king on the stage and perhaps even on your lap.  It is a great place for fun that BBB used to offer many moons ago.

Cant recall exactly, it might be due to their drink price.

And you can supplement you visit in that soi with just crossing it and you have Dreamboys, not a bad selection there although no show.

@vinapu - you previously reported about boy numbers 36 and 37 at Dreamboys Pattaya, then later, that they were no longer working there.  You will like to know that #37 is back at work, in case you are going to Pattaya.

All the bars in Jomtien Complex charge 300B for offing a boy and 400-500B for waiting staff.

Happy to hear that as long  as it's not as case of numbers being recycled and reused. In few weeks I should know better

In Jomtien Complex last September it was fairly consistently 300 - 350 baht off fees with no distinction being made between short-time or long-time. In BT I was paying 500 baht in Toy Boys and, I think 600 in Classic Boy bar, but only 300 in Pikky Bar. Again no distinction between short-time or long-time. Seem to recall the Karaoke Bars (Diamond and Friendly) were more but I was usually too drunk to remember clearly by that stage of the night/morning.

Actually all good value compared to the girl bars. My Aussie friend who likes to borrow his girls from some of the high-end agogos, thinks nothing of paying a 2,000 baht barfine.

For Pattaya, I have recently paid 3,000 tip for LT, twice in the past few days.  That is for real LT, lasting 12-15 hours, with none of the fake excuses BS boys sometimes make up to leave early.  I just tell them I'll pay 2,000 ST, and 3,000 LT, with no further discussion. 

If I run into the fake excuses, I will adjust downward (again, in Pattaya).  If they leave early when hired for LT, they won't get taken off by me again.

I don't recall the off fee, maybe 400-500.

This is in Pattaya.  Bangkok prices in many cases will run a bit higher, depending on the bar and the boy.  Other people may pay differently, but that's my recent experience. 

Somebody will likely say that is too much for Pattaya, but this is what I pay.

I find this intriguing. I assume this is in Pattaya. What, do you reckon, would the lower-end gogo bars (girls) charge for a barfine? Any clue if the bar gives a cut of that to the borrowed girl? If not, how do you think such a rate developed?

This may partly explain why BoyzBoyzBoyz is reaching for 1,050 baht.

Recently (as of last Dec), it went up to 2500 ST and 4000 LT

An increase of 25% ST and 33% LT.

That's higher than rate of inflation!

Wow, 6000 seems pretty steep.

4000 kinda makes sense I guess for some of the more popular bars/guys (Jupiter, Dreamboys, maybe previously Tawan/The One) seeing that even ST with guys there would usually cost around 3000 (at least back in August last year).

Yeah, I had a feeling it would be around this range given the increase in ST.

In my last trip, guys @ the One will ask for 3000 for ST but I remember paying 2500 for ST to a guy I had from Moonlight.

6000 for full 24 hours, not just half day. Usually in Bangkok you would land on 4000 for LT lasting 8 to 12 hours.

It is amazing to recall  that I was paying 200 bht or sometimes 300 bht to the bar back in the late 90s. Like the cost of a baht bus ride, there are things in Thailand that remain extremely good value. We have been very fortunate. Or at least I have.
