Members Novarunner Posted January 14 Members Posted January 14 I made numerous trips to Thailand over a ten year period prior to COVID but never went to Brazil. Post-COVID, I made my first trip to Rio and basically fell in love with place (or more accurately the guys there and their general passionate attitude toward sex) and haven’t returned to Bangkok since with the exception of a long layover last year that gave me a chance to visit the city briefly and caused me to plan the trip I am about to take. I’ve been reading this forum diligently so as to make the best use of my upcoming time in Bangkok since I am no longer in touch with any of the guys I used to know in Thailand. I think I have a solid plan but what I’d really be curious to know is: 1. I’m definitely not a Thai massage shop or go go bar virgin, in fact, leading up to the long layover I mentioned I spent a significant amount of time planning the one massage that I had time for in Bangkok and, well, I did a good job. It was kind of amazing. So, if I’m not a newbie but I haven’t spent any real time in Thailand over the past 5 or 6 years, what am I? Has anybody made a return visit to Thailand under similar circumstances? How was it? 2. One of the many things I like about Brazil is using Instagram to meet gorgeous guys. For reasons that will always mystify me, a message from a moderately fit American in his early-40’s to a drop dead gorgeous garoto has a more than decent chance of receiving a response in Brazil. Is there a parallel in Thailand by any chance these day? floridarob and BL8gPt 2 Quote

You will find better public transport and higher prices in bars. Arena is still there. If you have old Rabbit card , bring it as they are valid 7 years so it should still work BL8gPt 1 Quote
Popular Post Raposa Posted January 14 Popular Post Posted January 14 Whether or not you will be thrilled to be back depends on your own attitude and not necessarily what Bangkok has developed into. You will find that, as Vinapu rightly points out, public transportation is better and that there’s a lot of new offerings. Since you say you're in reasonable shape and in early 40s, go explore the new onsens like Zen and Ryuu onsens, they have different and young, local crowds. However, be aware that Bangkok has a higher cost of living than Rio or SP. I assert this based on objective criteria, that is the calculations made by international organizations and firms when computing salaries for expats. Brazil is the cheaper alternative. If you find yourself constantly making comparisons to Brazil, the price level, the culture of communication (which is often indirect in Thailand), the perceived skill of the boys etc. If you are prone to making comparisons like this and are highly price sensitive, then this is likely to sour your experience of coming back. If that is the case, then perhaps reconsider the trip. Your experience will be mediated by whether you choose to approach it with an open mind or through jaded eyes. If you choose the former the experience can be sweet: «the meditation of old times resumed» as Walt Whitman would put it. Good luck with your decision! bkkmfj2648, BL8gPt, reader and 4 others 7 Quote
Members Novarunner Posted January 15 Author Members Posted January 15 I am very interested in zen and Ryuu onsens. Thank you. I think these two fine establishments will need to be incorporated into my trip. Are certain days/times best? Both seem to be quiet active on instagram. Quote

Don’t use IG to follow these onsens, you will find that X is where they can be more explicit and also provide links to the X accounts of the models they occasionally host. Quote

This would be true For expats/visitors with foreign earnings, the BRL is at record lows..... from the locals standpoint, earning local currency, Brasil can be more expensive, depending on where and with whom they're living. 6 hours ago, Raposa said: If you find yourself constantly making comparisons to Brazil, the price level, the culture of communication (which is often indirect in Thailand), the perceived skill of the boys etc. 🙋♂️ Yet I continue go for the reasons I've listed below.....plus good shopping, if you're into that. 6 hours ago, Raposa said: Good luck with your decision! If you speak Portuguese, which he does, Brasil is AMAZING sex and tons of fun for an average of 1200 thb at today's exchange.... about the same in touristy Medellin, too. Quote

First of all, let’s get one thing straight, my Portuguese is on par with that of a drunk third grader’s but, still, that’s very kind of you to say and it is generally good enough to explain what I’m interested in having go where which is important but, then again, since I generally like “most things” and I am kind of a whore even when there is an error, well, it’s not that big of a deal. I got hooked on Rio because guys that look like this: generally are agreeable to spending time with me at my hotel under circumstances that are easy to recreate time and time again. That said, and for those of you that may have just begun planning a trip to Rio de Janeiro after looking at the picture, I strongly recommend you go but, if you are able to figure who the garoto in the picture is, take a pass. He is gorgeous but I definitely recommend you pass. Why am I telling you all this? Well, I am very interested in going to Ryuu Onsen because it appears that this will be there: but, unfortunately, somebody seems to have put all the information in Thai. Could one of the esteemed members of this board explain how I can find out who will be at Ryuu and when? A short explanation of how I can do some of the things I’m interested in doing with the guys in the pictures would also be very much appreciated. I like new experiences. bkkmfj2648 1 Quote

a-447 Posted January 16 Posted January 16 2 hours ago, Novarunner said: Could one of the esteemed members of this board explain how I can find out who will be at Ryuu and when? Download an app called Google Lens. You point the app at the written word and it translates it into any language. It tells me that the first 2 guys will be there from 7:30 pm. It also has a search function. For example, if you see a building and don't know what it is, point your camera at it and google lens will find it for you and tell you what it is. vinapu, AlexThompson and reader 2 1 Quote
Raposa Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Hi, I recommend that you download Papago app. It can translate from text, images and speech and covers the major languages of Asia. The first guy is also known as SemenX, he’s a well known porn actor and you can find many of his movies if you causally search some of the appropriate search engines that are fit for purpose. Regarding the third guy, Bank, he is also available at Aurora Spa. You might find the new therapist there, Ram, to be your type too: vinapu, BL8gPt and 10tazione 3 Quote

You've been to Thailand before, so I shouldn't have to tell you this, but there is A LOT of photoshop used from guys on apps, and some massage shop's that I haven't experienced in Brasil, a little in Colombia though. I went with @reader to SK and had prebooked a guy that looked ZERO like his pictures....but I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt to see if he was good in massage/sex.... NOPE. My gut feeling told me to not go with him, because of how much photoshop was used.....should've gone with my gut, perhaps one of the worst experiences in Thailand for me.....and the funny thing is when I walked out, Reader was already waiting outside and when I told him how bad it was he said, "It couldn't have been worse than mine", lmao regarding the Rio guy, the most handsome isn't usually the best sex or to hang out with ..... reader and zazzu 2 Quote

There's one shop (the largest) in SK that uses photoshop exclusively while others use it sparingly. If the photography appears too professional, I assume it's been shopped. Phoeinix does not use it and most its guys appear better in person. The advantage of using shops in Silom / Surawong area is that guys can be readily seen outside or just inside door. zazzu, BL8gPt, vinapu and 1 other 4 Quote

Yeah but his looks reminded me of one of the first guys I ever met in Rio who was incredible and with whom I’m still in touch. I was hoping to go on that same ride again but we had zero chemistry and mechanical doesn’t even begin to describe my time with him. Absolutely gorgeous to look at but a complete dud. Thanks for the warning about photoshopped images. I’m thinking of recalibrating my trip to spend more time in saunas. I did that on a trip in Colombia last year and had an excellent time. floridarob 1 Quote
Menaughty Posted January 17 Posted January 17 So what is this place exactly (Ryuu Onsen)? I tried contacting them through Line, they said they do not have massuers. now i do get the literal definition of onsen but why do they have these hot models posted on instagram? It seems there was an event but I am confused is this a gay facility? Quote

The models you see advertised will appear at events and will often be available for fun with participants afterwards. Menaughty and vinapu 2 Quote
Members Novarunner Posted January 21 Author Members Posted January 21 @floridarob Brazil has definitely spoiled me. A massage after a 16 flight is kind of amazing but I miss the sizable population of ~28 year olds that think having sex with a moderately fit old white guy from the States is a good idea. I’m definitely less popular here in the sauna and on Grindr than I am in Rio or SP. Just curious, how often do you make the trip to Thailand? AlexThompson and floridarob 2 Quote

I've added Indonesia, Manila into the mix and trying to add different countries each time instead of being like the horse running back to the barn 😆 You should try the Dominican Republic.... Quote

I don’t regret coming here or anything. In fact, I’m certain I’ll be back but definitely think I understand what your saying. The chances of finding a 25 year old here that thinks it’s a good idea to come to my hotel room, spend two hours exchanging bodily fluids, drink some caipirinhas and get some food while staring at the ocean and then followed possibly by trying yet again to make a new gay boy are approximately zero where as in Rio that has happened at least once on most of my trips. As a wiseman once said though it only takes one. I met a completely age inappropriate guy from Vietnam in the sauna yesterday. In broken English he told me that I had a nice ass and since he had pretty decent abs and the rest of him was nicely put together too, I let him fuck me. Still, I feel like in Brazil a similar situation probably would have progressed to an evening of, well, what described above but here the sex was decent and he came but then said he needed to go home and get some sleep so that he’s not too tired for work the next day. Apparently, he works at a bank or something. I do like the massages here though and those aren’t available elsewhere. Gottab, Olddaddy, floridarob and 1 other 4 Quote
