Could anyone please recommend an english speaking family doctor to treat a severe case of sore throat (unconducive 2 oral activities), preferably in Silom area? 

Or where and how 2 locate one?

Used it last trip. Don't forget to bring passport.

The ER doubles as walk-in clinic. Nurse will take you vitals and triage you.

Lotus' 1st link is only 4 STD. The 2nd's website says it also general. I went there; turns out it's also STD, with a general doctor once a fortnight.

Went 2 the hospital. VERY professional, welcoming, quick. Got checked and a prescription 4 antibiotics. 1330 baht, like short term.....   (-:

I like Bangkok Christian Hospital. For other people in the future I would also suggest Pulse Clinic on Silom. Worth looking at all their services. For anyone short of cash most pharmacies will sell amoxicillin without prescription very cheaply, just asking for a reason, like a sore throat.

I have also used BNH on Convent, not far away, many times for minor medical issues and been happy with good service at a reasonable price.
