Changes to be expected in Thai immigration

So, reading between the lines and considering the labyrinthine workings of Thai bureaucracy, the change could be months away. Or more. I merely hope it doesn't occur just as I'm about to leave the UK.

Perhaps there could be an alphabetical programme of implementation.....and the UK comes well-done the list! By then I'll probably be past caring.

if ETA will speed going through immigration I'm all for it. Cambodian one is very simple to apply so nothing to worry much.

as for 300 fee it looks that it's too much hair splitting over issue. Of course it's impossible to decide who is tourist (i.e. British guy coming to Thailand to visit his mother married to Thai who will spend most of his time just travelling around -tourist or family visit and so on ) so either it will be collected from all arrivals with exception of Thai citizens and permanent residents  or resulting mess will be making more harm than good. My prediction- nothing comes out of it

I am worried what this could mean for the msg and gogo guys ...

most likely it will not apply to ASEANs and if it does , they know their ways how to cross border either way
