Hello Everyone, I am back from my 2-Week Bangkok Trip. This was my first time ever in Thailand. Below I will share a brief summary of my trip.

 

Firstly because this was my first time, my trip was divided into 3 sections. 

1. Gay stuff 😂 (thats what I call it)
2. Sightseeing/Touristy things
3. Personal beauty stuff (like waxing, facials etc)

 

Let me begin by saying that two weeks are not enough for a first timer, I was definitely overwhelmed and tired. Juggling between all the above stuff.

 

Now the Gay stuff.

 

Massages:

I only went to Prince & Arena. Prince I went 3 times and Arena only once. The reason I did not bother going to any other massage place because Prince and Arena are guaranteed places that offer good extras. 

Arena is a little run down while Prince is well-maintained. Please don’t ask me the name of the massuers because I do not remember but they were all great! 

Minimium tip for Prince is 1500 Baht and I chose basic 1 hour that was 1100 baht.

 

Bars:

 

Atlas

Nice show. Among the bars I went only here I saw a masturbation act. I offed a really good looking boy. Again can’t remember name 😭 but he had hair kinda like Guile from Street fighter. From his appearance, it looked like that he might be uptight and rude, but he was the complete opposite, literally the sweetest person.

 

Freshboys

The best show I would say. Boys were mostly twink and some twunks. I am not into twinks but there one really cute twunk. However I did not off anyone.

 

Dreamboys:

Did not off anyone here too. The selection here is decent actually. From muscular to twink. Show was ok.

 

Jupiter:

I feel like Jupiter has something for everyone. Show was enjoyable. Offed a sweet Cambodian boy. 

 

I also went to this foot massage place, cant remember which one but it was in the same strip as relax massage. All boys wore yellow polos. I only did a foot massage there but the guy did press my penis a couple of time. Maybe because I was there last customer and I went really late.

 

I did pass by The One but did not go in, however this really cute bouncer they have outside was like I’ll go to hotel with you. I didn’t take him though. 

 

Now the things I did not like:

Before I say this, I do want to clarify that this is not a complaint or rant. I know there are many Thailand fans in this forum and I do not want to offend anyone. This is just something I did not like. 

 

[In all below senarios I DID give tips]

 

When I went to Altas, they kept pushing tip bucket in my face, which was still fine considering the boy was performing on the stage.

However when I chose the guy to off, the person who helped me get the boy asked for a tip, then the waiter asked for the tip.

 

I went to Freshboys, the waiter just brought my drink and pushed me for a tip. Then later when I was done with the drink, some other waiter took the bill and he asked me for the tip. The host/announcer working there asked for tip. 

 

When I went to Jupiter (I went twice) first time i did not off anyone, so it was not much of a hassle, good thing they take money at the entrance instead of inside.

However, when I went the second time to off, the guy who brought the boy asked for the tip then another waiter standing nearby asked for tip just because he kept asking me if i need boy earlier. When I was finally leaving with my guy. The person at the door shook his tip box and asked for the tip. 

My GOODNESS, by this point I was annoyed by going to the bars.

 

This was really off putting for me. It is one thing to tip, but it’s a whole another thing when everybody is just literally asking it on your face. So much money was already spent even before I got the boy. 

 

Final Verdict: 

As a city Bangkok is amazing and so much fun!!! I am still sad leaving it. Will I come back? Of course!!

 

But if I just want sex without any b.s, I will rather go to Barcelona thermas. It is much cheaper in all ways for me even when it comes to flights (from Texas).

 

But Bangkok in general offers a lot for tourists I spent hours strolling through markets buying so much stuff, going to 7-Eleven and eating all the toasties every single day. 

 

But judging purely based on sex, Barcelona and Brazil are still winners for me. However there is a thrill when you go to the bar and select a guy to off. I was so nervous but felt so brave afterwards 😂.

 

This is my mini report and I know I have only just scratched the surface of gay stuff in bangkok that is why I need another trip.

I never get this in Pattaya....maybe it's a Bangkok thing?😮

You will end up going broke giving everyone a 100 baht tip 

How do other guys on here handle that?

I tip when I pay the bill and say no frequently to other requests. But I know so many men at Freshboys that too many manage to winkle 100 bt out of me. I'm told that money left in the folder there is pooled and divided amongst the waiters at the end of the night. A note on top of the folder goes in the waiter's pocket, which is normal in Thailand, and can make for a happier waiter in restaurants.

An excellent report. Thailand (usually Bangkok), Brazil (Sao Paulo and Rio) and Spain (Barcelona) are my usual holiday destinations of choice so we have similar tastes. 

Just a few thoughts. I agree that nothing can beat the Brazilian saunas for action. I vividly recall my first experiences of Lagoa in São Paulo. The negatives are safety particularly Rio where I have been mugged and the difficulties of getting there from Australia. The added annoyance is the reintroduction of visas. 

Barcelona is a wonderful city and certainly safer than the main Brazilian cities. I do like Thermas and frequent it often enough when I’m there although I don’t think it is quite as good as the well know São Paulo and Rio equivalents. 
Thailand has a wonderful culture, the people are fabulous, plenty of action although not to the same extent as the other mentioned locations. We agree on that. In summary Bangkok is one those places that I just like being there.

Bangkok in May is my next port of call.

Why do they have to do the same thing they did at Tawan...don't they realise it actually very irritating to have that bucket waved in your face 😬

But i have not encountered pushy waiters asking for tips at FB and Jupiter before tho...hopefully this is not something that will become common in my next trip 😅

I don't know what apparently it is about my looks or demeanor, but in NONE of the 6 bars I visited in bkk last month was I approached for tips...

Thank you for your update, menaughty.

I gather from your report that The One is still open. I assumed that it might have closed altogether, now that Atlas has provided competition.

And with the glowing reports about Barcelona and Brazil, I feel tempted to consider different pastures the next time I plan a holiday, but I'll probably end up retuning to Thailand mid year.

Well, those other places mentioned here sound fine, but they're not for me.

I'm really only into Asian guys.

I had my first sexual experience with a western guy when I went to Europe in my late 20's. I've had other Western guys on subsequent trips to Europe, and now my regulars here in Australia are both westerners.

But I can't feel any connection with them.

I guess I'm just a hopeless rice queen!

Great report menaughty, thank you very much.

I get request for tips are becoming annoying , specially that bar admission at usually 500 is not exactly cheap to start with but with little practice one can develop thicker skin and liberally use ' no' when asked for tip.

other approaches which seem to work is to take finite amount when going to given bar. If you take  only 4 or 7  smaller notes you can't distribute more than that. 

Or start being serious about being stingy - on my trip last month I got ambushed for tips at Atlas where I'm kind of being known as ATM in motion   so I started tucking 20 baht bills instead of 100 ones. Few very persistent got 10 or even 1 baht coins dropped in their undies. Effect was almost immediate , they got a message , we all had a good laugh and I was not tormented much longer. Do it with smile though. No sense to show we are upset even if we are.

You ask the mamasan (or the boy) how much to 'off' the boy. Usually starting at about 500 Baht.
This is only the fee to the bar to allow him to finish his shift early.
THEN you negotiate with the boy; variable depending on what you want him to do. Can vary from about 800 to 8,000 Baht.
Take him to your hotel (if allowed) or let him take you to a local short time hotel. Some bars have short time rooms upstairs for a fee of course.  Expect to pay about 500 for a short time room

As for being pestered for tips, I'm not a charity and only reward people of they actually do something for me. So if a waiter or a guy in a gogo bar comes up to me and asks for a tip, I just smile and say "Sorry. Not tonight."

However, sometimes, if I see a nice looking guy in 7/11 or of he gives me a smile, I'll pay for his purchases.

The look on his face is all the reward I need!

I grew up on Long Island - slightly south and a tiny bit West of @reader.

I moved to Italy in 1999 to chase hot Italian guys, until my then employer sent me to Thailand - and then everything changed in my tastes.  No doubt this forum also helped to change my tastes, with the many hundreds of fascinating stories that I read about all of your adventures.

So much so, that I decided to retire here.
