Guest aot87 Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 IF you were booking an up market hotel in bkk , would you use the hotels own site or one of the discount sites , such as agoda etc Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 I would always check several sites, including the hotel's own site. I remember at the start of this year. I checked on rates for the Four Seasons in Bangkok. The hotel offered the best rate - because it had introduced a 'stay 2 nights get the 3rd night free' programme. Booking agencies tend to negotiate rates before such offers are decided on. In Thailand, I think agoda offers about the best of the agency rates. You can try http://www.hotelscombined.com which gives you access to several agency discount sites rather than just agoda. Quote
Guest thaiworthy Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 I too check the hotel's own web site and several booking sites. I wanted to stay at Pantip Court Serviced Apartments from Dec. 10 to Jan. 9. At the time when I booked it, just a few months ago, Agoda would not let me book into the new year, nor would latestays.com But booking.com gave me a good rate (much cheaper than Agoda) and let me book the extra 9 days into January as well. Sometimes it is not always about best price and I like to make make airline and hotel arrangements way in advance. My rate was about 2400 baht per night, even cheaper than Tarntawan's with a discount. The Pantip Court apartments are 97 sm 1 bedroom suites, with breakfast for 2 included, so I feel I got a good deal. Quote
