Pattaya Visit

Made a visit to Pattaya this past weekend and had a good time. Nong Nooch Gardens is quite nice to see and we had a fun time there. The terracotta flower pots are elaborate and very nice to view along with all of the wonderful plants in them and placed in other parts of the gardens. The exhibits of cars and other objects they have made out of small terracotta pots is truly unique and fun to see. Some of the small statues of funny looking children and the color painted frogs could well be done without but this is just part of Thai culture and that's life. In the whole it was a great experience.

About 2 years ago I had been to Alcazar and really enjoyed it. This time we took in Tiffany show. Both are great in their individual ways and very entertaining. It would well be worth your while to go to at least one of them if you have not been before.

On Sunday morning we wanted to go to Corner Bar for breakfast (not sure they are opened in the morning but wanted to try) but we could not find it. This was my first visit to Sunee Plaza and the map in OUT magazine is somewhat less than useless. This is something that magazine needs to work on because their maps, on the whole, are not very good. I was very much surprised by how many Arabs there are, apparently, living in Sunee area. It could well be Baghdad or somewhere in Saudi Arabia. Why are there so many Arabs in Pattaya? What is the attraction for them?

We went to Western Wholesale Meat Co and bought quite a load of their products. The owner is a Brit and very helpful. He appears to work hard in supplying good products to his customers and Pattaya citizens are lucky to have the establishment. Check it out if you havn't.

In addition to Arabs, Pattaya is overloaded by Farangs. The place appears to have been surrendered to foreigners by the Thai people. Good for business and money making, but bad for the Thai culture. Such a thing is the plight of every vacation oriented spot on the planet.

Sorry to disagree with you kjun 12, but I think the Sunee map is absolutely spot-on as far as Corner Bar is concerned! It's located exactly where it is on the map! However, if you were planning on finding it immediately across from Yaya's, then you'd have cause for a little gripe, as Yaya's (No. 46) is definitely too far east.

I was in Pattaya the previous weekend with a friend from Sydney. Never having been to Corner Bar before, we had no problem finding it and enjoying a drink with one of their nice slim young hosts - dang, I wish I could remember his name :p

I think Corner Bar may be hard to find in the day time. Anything in Sunee may be hard to find in the day time. You don't have the Neon Lights, the calling out of the doormen or the smell of booze.

I appreciate the report Kjun. I am amazed at how Falang Pattaya really is. It keeps moving more and more in that direction.

I also love the Alcazar and Tiffany's Shows. Pattaya IMHO has the hottest ladyboys on earth.

I really can't imagine the corner bar open for breakfast.

Some options in the Sunnee area for breakfast would be Two Guys, Monty's, and Howards. There are probably others, but those leap immediately to mind.
