I have never been to its new incarnation, Ocean Boys. Does anyone have an update? When I googled Ocean Boys bar, I found a link to one of shamelessmack's excellent analyses of bars in that area (also including Jupiter and Tawan) and attendances in mid-December last year. http://shamelessmack.wordpress.com/2010/12/23/bangkok-gogo-bars-update-december-2010/ In addition to providing a fascinating graph and a listing of drink and off prices, it also gives insights as to why most of the bars are not succeeding. And he concludes - The rest (Fresh Beach Boys, Classic Boys, Hotmale, X-boys and the new Ocean Boy) must surely be bleeding red ink Has Ocean Boys picked up at all? Note: When I started on this thread, I was not aware that shamelessmack had in fact written a blog with a reference to this bar only 2 days ago. However, his blog entry deals with the increasing use of signage in Chinese and the increasing numbers of Asians visiting the soi. So I'll let this post stand. Quote

The place was redone and it looks fantastic. They really did a fantastic job on the place. Truly beautiful IMHO. The boys: well, they were not the best and they didn't have the most but there were one or two cutties I would like to spend time with. I didn't stay for a show this week but will go back and try it again in a few weeks. Shamelssmack always does a great job with his reviews. His assessment of the prices was great. I'd suggest that no place on that Soi should be 300 baht thought. It isn't worth it IMHO including Dream Boys and Jupiter. 250 should be the high for those and the rest at 200. That is affordable and would draw in more customers IMHO. Quote
