Too Hot in Thailand

Here's a suggestion for adventurous foodies looking for unique experiences - Enjoy a sumptuous hotpot dinner inside a crystal palace made completely of ice! And when you need some alcohol to warm up your body, there's an ice bar that conveniently provides you an extensive selection of vodka, whiskey, champagne and hot drinks.

You have got to be kidding. There is no way in hell I am willing to spend $400 to $500 USD a night for a room at this or any other hotel. If I want dinner and drinks in a crystal palace, I will go to the Paradise Inn on Mt. Rainer, which will include a nice drive, outdoor scenery, and a spectacular view of some of the world's prettiest landscape.

Are ear-muffs provided, or do we have to take our own?

Yep, a bit pricey.

And I, for one, will provide no thawing assistance to anybody who gets their backside (or other body parts) stuck on the frozen toilets....

You ole tortoise, I'm right there with you. Just can't see spending that much to be in ice.

I'd rather get my rocks off elsewhere

hmmmmm.....interesting thought, LOL, I wonder what the toilet seats are like?

Bum numbing :o

On a more serious note, Harbin has the most fantastic ice and snow sculpture festival during the month of January. Unfortunately, the average temperature at that time is around -16 celsius! Has anyone been - to the festival, that is - not the toilet?
