Raid in Sunee Plaza Dec 30, 2010

Good Boys in Sunee was raided tonight. It appears that it and the apartment building connected were both raided. Boys were pee tested. The raid sent shockwaves around the Plaza as many boys from other bars then disappeared and left no one on stage.

 

There were about 12-15 police that swarmed the place fast. I am not sure what happened to the boys inside after or the falangs that were there.

 

I was sitting with Gaybutton and we both watched the scene unfold before our very eyes.

 

Many were predicting a raid before the start of the New Year. Tonight was the night.

I am shocked that LMTU didn't get the scoop on this. Shocked I tell you. But, he still thinks that All of Me in Sunee is a go go bar. I think he may have broken his journalistic fingers. But, I did see him with a gaggle of sexy guys a few days ago so he still has the ability to find the superstars. Perhaps they have distracted him from his scoopability?

 

That might explain why some of the other bars were a bit short of dancers. Nice Boys was very quiet when I went in.

The bars were pretty dead right after the raid. I am sure that before the end of the night all boys were summoned back to work. It is the peak of their high season.

 

Tonight should be good as boys need money to go to the Pier for a great Thai concert! Lets all go and give them a bit of money to enjoy their New Year.

I know you are one of the biggest party boys in Pattaya and staying in so close to New Year's Eve makes me worry a bit. Unless you were just resting up for tonight!

That is a pretty nasty statement. Many of the bars and gogo's follow the law and do not need to be raided. If they are, I hope the boys in brown also raid those in Boyztown, Walking Street, Soi 6, Jomtien and every other area of Pattaya. I am not sure why think think that gay bars have more yaba workers than other bars. It is not the case. It is, IMHO, only the amount being paid, or lack thereof, that causes these raids.

 

But, only time will tell. If there is a newspaper article on this, perhaps we will learn more behind the reason of the raid. However, there is not one newspaper in Pattaya I would trust to give a total reliable unbiased opinion of anything. I might even expand that statement to any newspaper in Thailand.

Not sure if you live in Thailand, PeterP. But you've been a member of this Board for over 4 years and so will surely know that the Pattaya BIB work in weird and wonderful ways, often more related to notes of red, purple and grey colour than in implementing the letter of the law.

 

From another post, I see you seem to have something against Sunee Plaza establishments. This I assume may be to do with another assumption relating to employment of underage minors and/or the people who seek them out. If my assumption is correct and if you do read this Board from time to time, you will know there is no-one here who condones such employment or behaviour. So you have already made your point.

 

In fact you have made that same point 3 times in the last 3 days! May I suggest that you take note of your own words. In denouncing this Board's emphasis on "tales of sex", you said:

Considering "LMTU has left the building" and is in Bangkok getting ready for the Party of the Year, being held there, for the début of a young new singing sensation a friend of his is managing. Who will be part of an all Star line up at the private party.

its not surprising he never wrote about it, a good Super Scooper cant be sitting down on his laurels, so he left the job to his self appointed Cub reporter Mistress Michael , who I must say got the scoop out before all the amateurs around, be careful though your be having some Old Lonely guy pretending some one sent him the Information in an email and try to steal as his own, but after visiting the Bar he is not shocked at the raid, it was packed with heads bobbing up and down, like nodding donkeys at an Oil well. when he looked in the door the other night. I was sitting at Corner Bar having a Gin and Tonic with some of the other guys as the raid began and I stuck around the area to the bitter end. The news media, their cameras, and the police caused the mass depature of many.

 

I was told that the raid was conducted by the Bangkok Police's Womens and Childrens Protective Services...but that is unconfirmed.

 

First the police brought a group of people down from the Hotel/Rooming House next to Good Boys...and off they went somewhere...I don't know where.

 

I sat in Uniform Bar directly across from Good Boy's front door as the raid ended with a boy that I have known for some time, and several news reporters who were enjoying a beer and watching the raid wind down to its bitter end hoping for a couple of more good camera shots. The Immigration Police blocked one end of the Soi with a police truck. The lights in the bar were all turned on the door opened and all of the boys were lead out and down the Soi; many had their arms around each others shoulders.

 

The owner/mamasan??, an older fat Thai man, was allowed to move all of the outdoor funiture into the bar under the watchful eye of a uniformed police officer and lock the door. Then they departed together..off to somewhere I do not know where.

 

Just as a statement of personal opinion as one who often sits across from Good Boys: it was trouble waiting to happen...besides its reputation (which you can get from others)...I have personaly seen numerous activites by its door man and other employees outside of the bar that would and did stop me from ever entering Good Boys. If one choose to dance in a fire...sooner or later they will get burned.

I was at Corner bar that evening but sitting in the section without a view of Good Boys so didn't see anything.

 

Generally don't enter Corner by going past Good Boys. Not a big deal but a minor annoyance is the way their dooman purposely enchroach on the soi hoping it will increase business.

In General terms it began about 8;45 PM and was all wrapped up by about 10;00 PM. I understand that Good Boys was open for business as usual last night. It is amazing how quickly justice is dispensed on so many of these bar closing infractions.

 

The doorman that you refer to as "purposely encroach(ing) on the Soi" is a work of art. While sitting across the Soi, I have personally seen him burn other boys that work at Good Boys with cigerettes on more than one occasion, and have seen him light one boy's pants on fire with a lighter. I think that I am old enough to know the difference between a young man acting a fool and someone who is just plain mean. This is a doorman to be avoided!!

A Boy Bar was raided by Pattaya Immigration Officers over the New Year period and underage workers were found inside. Officers raided the Good Boys Bar in Soi Sunee Plaza in South Pattaya and found 4 boys under the aged of 18 who were working as dancers in the bar. A further 3 bar employees failed urine tests, confirming they recently ingested methamphetamine. Two foreign Immgration Police Volunteers were used in the operation and used marked bank notes to pay the bar to take two boys under the age of 18 out. Khun Prayom aged 49, the manager of the bar was arrested and the underage boys were also detained and taken to the Immigration office in Jomtien.
