Guest GaySacGuy Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 The Thai Air direct flight to LAX from BKK had a threatening message put on a mirror on board the flight. The flight landed safely, and was parked at a remote location at LAX. The full story, etc. at: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/396640-thai-flight-lands-safely-in-los-angeles-following-bomb-threat/ I have flown this flight several times....not a comforting feeling! PattayaMale Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 this has become a real problem. It is a shame that some people feel that this is either funny or a way to get back at the employers. It cost the airline quite a bit of money for security and it really inconveniences the passengers. I guess it can't be stopped, but when the people that do this are caught......is Gitmo still open. Guest fountainhall Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 this has become a real problem With all the fuss that is made at airports nowadays to ensure that bombs do not get on to planes, I am really surprised that there seems to be no on-board security at those parts of the plane which are most vulnerable because people can go inside and be out of sight - the toilets. Surely there must be security cameras outside the doors? If so, everyone going in would be photographed. I am 99.9% certain that whoever was next into the toilet would have noticed the writing. Consequently, running the tape back would instantly show who had written the message - the person in immediately before. Quote
Guest GaySacGuy Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 I saw on an LA TV station website that 18 emergency vehicles responded to the incident including airport fire, police, paramedic, ambulance, FBI, and additional fire equipment from off airport. If you add up those cost alone, it is no joke! Quote

Guest GaySacGuy Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Well, if anything, it's good training for them to run through their procedures. They "run through their procedures" on a very regular basis...it's called training. But that is a whole lot different than having 195 lives in jeopardy in the aircraft, but untold numbers on the ground. A lot of people are put in jeopardy just responding to an emergency incident. It is definitely not "good training" to put so many people in harms way. Quote
Guest beachlover Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Obviously it was a bad thing to happen. I'm just suggesting there was a benefit to come from it (even if the downsides far outweighed the upsides). Quote
