Guest fountainhall Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 On the subject of concerts (and therefore almost on thread!), news of two Bangkok Symphony events in their Great Artists of the World Series. Both take place at the Thailand Cultural Centre in Bangkok at 8:00 pm. On Monday 25 October, the Winner of the International Chopin Competition in 2000, Yundi Li (now called just Yundi) gives an all Chopin recital at the Thailand Cultural Centre at 8:00pm. At 18 years of age, Yundi was the youngest-ever winner of that competition (putting him in such illustrious company as Martha Argerich, Krystian Zimerman and Maurizio Pollini) and the first to be awarded the Gold Medal for 15 years. Then on Saturday 27 November, the 1986 Tchaikovsky Competition winner Barry Douglas returns for another concert in his Beethoven cycle. This features - Overture: Leonore No. 3 Piano Concerto No. 1 in C major Symphony No 2 in D major More details at http://www.thaiticketmajor.com Quote
