I like porn if its done with some tact and thought. There are some scenes with various guys that are just way to crude and offensive to the boys tho. I think some aspects of the videos go a bit further than might be tasteful. However as long as people freely consent to participate in the videos, after receiving an honest explanation of what roles would be required, I do not see a problem.

If there's any hint of coercion either to participate, or do much more than was agreed in advance, that would be different.

 

People generally get paid what the market requires.

I have seen a few of these privateboy movies. It does not seem that the boys find it offensive. At the very end there is often a shot of the boy smiling. I once met a guy who had posed for commercial solo nude photos and he'd been told exactly what he had to do and how much he'd receive (Bt. 30,000 about 6 years ago). Not sure how that compares to fees for vdos. The one thing I dislike about this particular series is they are all very much the same format, doing mostly the same things with the same foreigner. And talking of format, the ics video series also uses its own format time and time again. If you happen to find the boys cute, then I guess you enjoy the vdo. If not, they can be pretty boring.

 

Some years ago there was a series of about a dozen made by Thai Twink. These had more scenes, great mix of guys, lots of different locations and varying groups. One included a cute massage boy whom I'd met a few times in Albury in Bangkok. Unfortunately, they stopped making them as they are now a pay-per-view site. A little anecdote. I once ordered 4 of these from the California address. I told them I lived in Thailand but asked for them to be sent to Hong Kong instead. A very nice Thai guy working with the company said he was to be visiting his family in Thailand and would happily bring them with him to Bangkok so he could deliver them personally. We met in Starbucks, had dinner a few times and - well, I'll say no more. He was the loveliest guy but sadly had to return to the US after his vacation.

 

Before the crackdown on selling printed publications, Door magazine used to make vdos of "the making of . . . " each publication. Boring if you want some sort of story angle, but I found them far more 'stimulating' than many of the more commercial ones.

 

The vdo porn industry seems to have little problem here. I guess since most movies are made in hotel rooms, shacks with sheets draped over the walls or on islands, they are not so easy to spot by the cops. And the profits must be high enough to pay off anyone snooping around.

 

Lastly one question. I noticed on my last trip to Pattaya earlier in the year that the beach vendors had stacks of Japanese porn. I find most of the guys in such vdos absolutely gorgeous. But the robotic, emotionless action completely turns me off! Do others find the same?

I had an interesting experience. I am not a fan of porn. Those who know me also know I never buy or download porn and I neither watch it nor am interested in it. But there was one exception. By sheer accident I found a few of porn videos that included one Thai guy in particular in each of them. That boy really turned me on.

 

Then, only a few days later I was on Camfrog and to my surprise, there he was. I contacted him and told him I'd love to meet him. He was interested. It turned out that he lives practically next door to Center Condo, so meeting him was no problem at all. He was very nice, very polite, and very affectionate, and he had told me he had been hoping for a farang boyfriend.

 

After we met I told him I had seen his videos. He was very embarrassed and was afraid I would think less of him for having been involved with them. He said he did it because he was desperate for money and was paid 5000 baht each time he did one. I told him I don't think less of him for it and I was really turned on by them.

 

I asked him how he got involved with porn videos in the first place. I got the answer I expected. He said a friend of his had done some and the friend put him in touch with the guy who makes the videos and convinced him to do it. It was easy money and for him, very good money.

 

That didn't help very much. Her literally begged me not to tell any of my farang friends about his videos if he was going to meet any of them. He was also scared to death that somehow his family would find out or even worse, see them.

 

We dated for awhile, but it eventually fizzled out. He just never was able to shake loose of the fact that I had seen his videos. I'm sorry I ever told him. I had no idea he would react like that.

The site mentioned here comes as a surprise to me as it's pretty hardcore and I had assumed that there would be no porn even available in Thailand, never mind produced there. The answer to both is yes. Despite the fact that it is illegal to produce or sell porn in Thailand, simply go to the beach. I would be very surprised if more than 20 minutes goes by before at least one porn video vendor strolls by offering his wares.

 

Also, many of the Thai boys who come to my place ask if I have any porn videos. They are always disappointed when I tell them I don't have any (I never did like porn. Not my thing.).

I thought for a second when I first read this that you were going to tell me that it's possible to see porn films being produced down at the beach any time of the day. I'd heard that the beach at Jomtien can get busy. No wonder.

I have seen several of the videos, and considered them quit good. There are some things that are a little ways out there (golf balls in the butt), but compared to some other porn quite vanilla.

 

I also do get tired of the same white guy in all the movies, although they did have a younger white guy in one that I saw. It is a little bit troubling that this older white guy appears to have bareback sex with several of the boys, but wears portection with others...Don't know why he doesn't wear protection all the time!!

 

The Thai boys are all quite cute, definitely not professional actors, and for the most part seem to be enjoying themselves.

Although no expert (despite what you may think!), much of the porn available on the beach etc. is made by a couple of US registered companies who hire a local to be their fixer and location finder here. One company uses only boys from a small group of Pattaya bars. The other, like pbm, seems to swap around between Bangkok and Pattaya models. Pbm seems mostly to use hotel rooms of varying quality. Ics vdo often just uses some shack-type room with white sheets stuck to the walls!

 

There are several European producers active here, but we rarely seem to see their wares in Thailand. The late (lamented by some) Thai Twink Productions generally used boys from Bangkok. I only know that because my cute masseur from Albury appeared in a few of them. I also had the good fortune to spend some time with a Thai student back for the holidays but based in LA who worked for the company!

 

The local magazines, like Door and Heat, often used the Bangkok sauna Chakran as their location. Although not apparent in the magazines, you can tell from some of the videos that they used a mix of gay and straight guys (girls being on hand to produce the required results on occasion)! Both of these were extremely well produced glossy magazines. Alas, both closed down as a result of Thaksin's social order campaign. Earlier this year, there was a guy who in the evenings openly sold old copies of these and other magazines from a cart parked on Rama 4 midway between Silom and Suriwong. Not sure if he is still there.

"High end art?" I've heard Thai porn called all sorts of things, but "art" is a new one on me. PBM is really pretty basic stuff, often with the farang participant pointing a hand-held camera at the job in hand

 

Parts of some of the vdos of the Door photo-shoots might just qualify as "art" IMHO, but these seem to have been shot on film or cheap vdo cameras, and are far from HD quality. Current Japanese vdos, many of which are on sale on the beach, have great video quality and some stunningly beautiful models. Unfortunately, the action is so typically Japanese (boring, repetitive and totally mechanical) that it's hard to get worked up over them - unless those gorgeous bodies and faces are a turn-on.

Perhaps surprisingly, Japanese law states it is public hair that cannot be visible, not other parts of that region. Hence the pixilation. And since the Japanese domestic porn industry itself is so huge, little is made for export. Virtually all vdos have some form of electronic masking.

 

However, porn producers have been pushing the law to its limits over the years. Masking now is often so minimal that you can see everything pretty clearly. It is merely a slight inconvenience, as far as I am concerned. I like those produced by COAT where the masking is just a faint blurring and the models are stunningly good looking. Last time on the beach I also picked up one with a largish sign on the front "No Blurring". It had no masking at all. So there are one or two of these around.

 

For what it is worth, my favourite Japanese vdo of all time is one made by Field - titled Surf Surf Revolution 7th Mix. And my favourite Thai one is one of the old Thai Twink Productions Splash

There are some Japanese videos without the pixilation, but they are not produced in Japan. JPBoys is one firm that puts out a lot of "good" Japanese videos with any masking.

I first saw this in a consumer electronics store in Tokyo. Just went up one more floor & right at the top of the escalator was a large plasma screen with a pornographic video running. I had no idea the next floor up was for specialist DVDs.

Go into any 'adult' vdo store in Shinjuku and the variety of vdo's available is just staggering.

Done that, I just would like a Blu Ray version without any pixellation.
