Guest shockdevil Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Has anyone ever flown Air China for the route BKK-JFK either way? The fare is so much less than other carriers. Their website does not provide much explanation on what is offered onboard or even the configuration of the economy section. Is there any comparison to other more familiar airlines? So far, I have flown Thai Airways, Korean Airlines, Cathay Pacific to Thailand and even Malaysia Airlines to Indonesia. Is Air China comparable to any of those carriers? Quote

Well, you write about 2 companies - Air China and in the end of your message you wrote China Airlines. Air China is Chinese flight company and China Airlines is from Tchaj-wan. I have experience with China Airlines which is comparable for example with Thai Airways. The services were very similar, food was tasty. It seemed me only that in Thai Airways there was a little bit more space for legs. You can read many reviews form travellers who travelled with China Airlines here: http://www.airlinequality.com/Forum/china.htm And of course you find there Air China reviews, if you flight with this company. Edit: Just for explanation - I have flown with CHina Airlines and Thai Airways from Europe. Quote

The answer is 'no' - at least not yet. Air China has improved a lot in recent years and they mostly fly quite modern equipment on long haul routes. But they rank below the other carriers you mention.
