Actually, I would find that a rather pleasant change from yet another, "I got fucked in massage parlour X, then  I got fucked in massage parlour Y, and then I got fucked in massage parlour Z and then I went home and found a boy on Grindr who came over and fucked me in the shower and then I found a boy on Hornet who fucked me on the dressing table and then I went on Blued and found a boy who promised to fuck me on the window ledge (but never showed-up) and then I went out to get fucked again and I got fucked...again."

No, that isn't directed at any poster in particular. My point is simply that if some posters are only posting those parts of their reports that involve them getting rammed and jammed because they think no one would actually be interested in reading about their other activities in a trip report, I think they will be pleasantly surprised. Many readers would probably be interested in reading a fuller trip report.

Considering how much Bangkok, and Thailand, have to offer, it would be difficult not tell an interesting story when posting a fuller trip report. While the mention of "church attendance" above was obviously an attempt at being witty, I actually think that a description of midnight mass in Bangkok would be an interesting read if anyone ever did post something like that - or of anything in particular that struck the poster during "aimless wandering through Chinatown steets just for fun of it."

Sex is certainly a big part of many people's holidays in Thailand, but surely there is more to it than that for most? On the other hand, if someone's "trip" does actually consist of little more than being fucked in the arse repeatedly, then I suppose that is what they are going to be posting - and there is obviously a market for that sort of highbrow material here too.

As one of those who regularly post trip reports here I can't leave that without answer because your post tickled me a bit and wrong way at that.

No,  I did not take it personally simply because in my reports you will not find narratives  you described " I got fucked  and then boy fucked me on the window ledge ". But that is because it's my personal choice believing those  details should be left out for privacy reasons, more so of boy's even  than mine , not because there's no market for that type of reports.

Quite opposite as we can easily measure by numbers of visits threads are receiving , not to mention emoticony reactions. We can easily see that more juicy threads ,  whatever it means , even lacking any graphics like mine,  are visited much more often than even most photogenic touristy ones , no to mention food and shopping related. That is simply nature on the forum.

Readers are looking for leads and comments on sexy places , it's why they are visiting and it is what makes that forum both unique and useful . Info about restaurants and hotels can be found in many places , about off fees at Dreamboys only on few forums including this one.

As for midnight mass relation , surely it could be interesting for both churchgoers and those who are not but also there's danger , since politics , money and religion are such heat generating  subjects that thread  may turn into nasty discussion about religious believes , practices and figures. That may go against what actual attendee  of mass intends to trigger.

Speaking about church matters  and in line with your suggestion I advise everybody to visit Holy Redeemer church in soi Ruam Rudi, walk distance from Silom ghetto diagonally across Lumpini park, perhpas 15 minutes walk from Rama VI monument if not less . Architecture is not churchy , it looks like most Thai temples , only cross atop indicates that it's the church.

Second reason are stations of the cross which everywhere are divided into 14 sections while there are two panels  , one on each side of church containing 7 stations seamlessly  connected and flowing into next one . I never saw anything like that anywhere

Other  thing which needs to be mentioned and floridarob said it already above. While all criticism is welcomed and may actually help to make posts and reports more readable it would immensely add credibility to critique if complainers were known for their own contribution . It's  one thing and easy at that , to complain about posts being boring and repetitive or whatever but another to try to put together one itself.

Trip reports are very time and effort consuming and even if we don't read them we should be happy somebody is kind enough to share his vacation adventures , whatever their nature are. Even if sexscapades are not interesting it's always good to treat report as receipt for fun filled vacation.

Happy to report that after writing it blood pressure is back to normal 130/74

Yes, you're absolutely correct! The dirty old men on these forums have only one interest.

And they need even more help and tips on how to indulge those interests as the years go by. It's one of Newton's laws! 🍎 🌳

Well don’t keep us in suspense. Just tell us what is this phenomenal interest of yours.

Vinapu hit the nail on the head. Generally speaking, people come to this site for information about the sex-related aspects of travelling (whether Thailand, Brazil, Barcelona, or wherever). More specifically, about the opportunities to buy sex 😛. This is the "unique selling proposition", as they say in business, of this forum.

Inevitably, a forum such as this attracts a tiny minority of visitors who see an opportunity to get all moralistic (or racist). It's like walking into a cutting-edge fine-dining restaurant and scolding diners for spending top dollar for food when there are people elsewhere living from hand to mouth. Like all instances when people do that, it is subconsciously so that they feel superior to others. (Or because they cannot afford fine-dining 😉).  They seldom realise how moralism, racism and holier-than-thouism look to others (tip: not a pretty picture).

Therefore, posters on this forum are not equal. I think many of us instinctively categorise posters into two kinds: those who make trip reports and have useful information to share, and those who don't make trip reports and have nothing but their egos on display.

Phew, now that I've said it, I feel better too!

There are 2 opposite sides on the Scala travelers who come to Thailand purely for tourism purposes against travellers who come only for sex trading, most of us are somewhere between these, for old men trying to find desent sex on reasonably rates at their own countries it's almost impossible so traveling to countries like Thailand where you can find sex and company with gorgeous guys on relatively very cheap prices is an excellent reason to visit this country so what's wrong with that ?

What do you suggest @Marc in Calif older people should stay in their countries miserably do nothing till they die in sorrow?

Your comments are totally b***it & hypocritical and contributed nothing useful to this forum.

Your posts are perfectly balanced, so it wasn't about you, I'm sure

Funny how those who never write trip reports are complaining and dictating what should be written, while those who contributed their time and effort getting critised by these few holy spirits who thinks they are better than everyone else.

There is a saying in my language that loosely translated to "whoever eat the chilli, feels the heat" but i am not aiming this to anyone.

And back to the topic, is it a surprised that gay forum are slow now? If effort to write reports are not appreciated, instead becomes a source of trolls feeding, ill take my effort to where itll be appreciated.

I appreciate the variety on this site, just as I enjoy the variety of experiences offered by my many (eighty plus) trips to Thailand. I suspect that, were reports from bars the only content, I'd be  an occasional visitor only and not a contributor.

But they're not. We explore issues that are more applicable to the wonderful times I spend there...tourism and hotels, eating-out, travel, culture, history Including that of the gay scene, politics and the joys and tribulations of relationships with our beautiful hosts.

Regarding that final one, this is the only forum on which I can discuss my own relationship openly and without provoking rancour. And that's precious to me.

I agree! I am not in a LTR but am friends with several guys in Bangkok. I find myself going gaga over a new guy every year.

Thank you and i marvel how you find time to write yours in almost real time. I dropped that idea long time ago , saving precious vacation time for debaucheries.

Thank you , I guess so and did not take any personal offence. I don't mind being criticized for my reports  though , if only  because when re-reading them  and I do that at least once a year,  I see they could use a lot of fine tuning.

But where I  found offending logic  is fact that   travel, posts are criticized my posters who don't bother with theirs. I'd say write something first and than have a go at others for the same. Whenever somebody writes about their adventures I'm grateful because I know first hand how much time it takes.

Like with every other posts , if readers found it not interesting it's easy procedure to skip and go to the next thread or even have a walk with the dog instead.

Sometimes posts are repetitive and it's for a reason - new readers , who can't be expected to comb through whole forum in order to learn how to get to Arena or if they have twinks at Tawan (yes, now they do and some very attractive at taht) .

Long trip reports are very time and effort consuming to read too, so please just make them brief and get to the points.

make your life easy and read every second sentence or even if you feel like speedy Gonzales , every second paragraph.

Point  to make long report is so those who like them long can enjoy more of what they like and those who like them short can use advice just above.

Still thank you for making effort , if not reading , at least noticing they are here
