It may become our reality in our not so far future. Imagine that we are wearing an AI VR device and having a VR experience with what @jason1975 has created in his AI space. Imagine that this AI experience can be almost lifelike with even electronic impulses that arouse us and can get us off to orgasm? In this future (for now fictional) world this could become our reality. Jason would be paid by us for his AI work to enable us to have this orgasmic VR experience with the AI character(s) that Jason creates for our pleasure and consumption. brall3 Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Any STAR TREK fans on the form? If so, remember the Borgs? We are quickly becoming Borgs, always connected to the internet one way or another 😃. First thing in the morning, get on the internet. Last thing at night, get on the internet. Observing people walking down the street, waiting for or already on the bus, train, Metro etc. the heads are buried into the cellphones. And now, AI. With cheaper drinks, and no offs, comes less profit. When Vinapu and I were there, beginning November, I didn't notice drinks being cheap! Also, the Myanmar boy who sat with us didn't speak English. The other problem that I saw is that there were only 4 or so booths, I think, for customers to sit. They also seated 4, so not good for the individual punter, whom I assume is in the majority! In England I would wonder if such a place was a tax loss deal, or money laundering! vinapu 1 Quote

And the routine of erecting and disassembling occurs daily. Goings The Paddy Field, a long time sports bar adjacent to Foodland, has closed its doors. It had a strong following among UK and Aussie football and rugby fans but most have migrated to the larger Shenanigans on Surawong. I liked it because it offered a great perch to observe the entrance to Dream Boy whose performers could be found lounging outside during breaks. Also gone is the BarBar on Patpong 2 whose barker was famous for slapping a stick and proclaiming “S and M.” And it seems the adjacent lady bar may have also closed. Would not be surprised if there are already plans in works for the space. Also making an exit—if forecasters are to believed—will be the excessive heat with decreasing temperatures and welcome rain predicted to kick off monsoon season. Barker with stick, and adjacent girl bar with very small g strings still there last week! Quote

It's always annoyed me that that girlie bar has girls in miniscule Gstrings, even in the street, but boy bars cannot! Quote

It gives customer option of just sitting at bar and watching the show (which is every half-hour) and not buying drinks for boys. Or you can sit with boy and enjoy his company. Up to you. What I particularly like about the place is that all they guys who work there are good, energetic dancers and quite easy on the eyes. And they smile easily. It's limited size makes it even more intimate. I give it a thumbs up and will be returning. splinter1949, 10tazione, floridarob and 5 others 8 Quote

At least 6 boys who have to dance etc, so not being bought drinks, etc. Also not that much space for customers. I like the idea, and the boys, but I am pessimistic! floridarob 1 Quote
macaroni21 Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Thanks, @vinapu for the shout out. 3 hours ago, reader said: I came away with more encouraging outlook for bar's future. I'm sure there are some of us who appreciate the value proposition that Dragon and Koi has to offer, and @reader seems to be among them. But what is important for the long term viability of any business is whether ENOUGH people out there (not just us) appreciate its value proposition, who come to Bangkok frequent enough, and who actually visit the place. My blogpost ponders if this bar's appeal has limitations. Quote

There was one night where I spent 4k baht on tips and drinks--as did two other members--and another few nights where 2k was left behind. And I came away each time persuaded that I received fair value in return.😊 10tazione, vinapu and BL8gPt 1 1 1 Quote

The boys dance for total of 30 minutes per hour. Boys get tipped while dancing and during the other 30 minutes are free to sit with customers and earn drink commissions and tips. Quote
10tazione Posted January 10 Posted January 10 While I personally hope it goes well from Dragon & Koi because i like the boys bar, I can imagine that it could go financially wrong as well, but only the owner knows how good or bad the situation is. Referring to Macaronis blog, I don't understand what the average alcohol consumption in Asian countries would have to do with it. I dont think that visitors of Patpong are population average, so I dont think it is correct to conclude from country averages to this special case, at least not without further explanation. Maybe people from other countries come to make party and drink, things they can't do at home because big brother is watching ? Have their birthday party at Dragon? Maybe even more so the younger ones, and it has often been mentioned that the visitors from Asia are younger? Just an idea. In the end, I have no idea, and I have already been wrong with Sol (although they apparently didnt continue to do what I saw when I was there), so I can just wish them my sincere good luck! reader 1 Quote
