TotallyOz Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 The Pattaya Players have been around for a while and they keep coming up with new events and great shows. This was a much needed thing for Pattaya and Chris is the driving force behind this. Keep it up Chris. You are doing a fabulous job! Quote
Guest lvdkeyes Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 I totally agree. I hope in the future you will do some shows that Thais who are not completely proficient in English will enjoy. Quote
Guest PattayaPlayers Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Thanks for the kind words, GayThailand and thanks to LVDKeyes for being such a supportive audience member! This truly has been a labor of love for me. I -- as well as many others have put a lot of time into creating this organization and I am quite happy with the amazing progress we have made in just over a year! Last year, we managed to produce 4 productions and this year we have already got 6 in the works! We keep learning from each one -- and I believe we are growing and maturing with every step. The Odd Couple marks one of our best productions to date -- I think -- and the coup of obtaining The Amari Grand Ballroom was a big step up in terms of venue. To answer the question regarding more Thai oriented material -- we would like to do this. The problem is that Thais just don't really understand western theater all that much -- and are even less interested in performing in them. That being said, we did have two Thai tour guides at our Halloween Haunted Ghost tour last year -- so I suppose that was a start! If you know of any Thais that might be coaxed into the spotlight -- please send them my way! Again, thanks for the positive feedback. I often hear the negative on these boards, but rarely the positive. It is greatly appreciated. Cheers, Chris Quote

What I meant was something that didn't have a lot of dialogue, maybe more musical or sight comedy. I don't really know exactly what to suggest. My bf enjoys theater when we go to BKK. They have Thai subtitles shown on the wall beside the stage. I don't know how hi tech this and if it is possible here. Just a thought! Quote
