On their menu, I just spotted something I had not seen before. It is Kasai Massage, and their description is "a traditional Thai genital therapeutic treatment, is renowned for its focus on promoting sexual and reproductive health benefits. Rooted in ancient healing traditions, this modality aims to stimulate reproductive function and internal organs, addressing issues such as impotency, erection dysfunctions, frequent urination, premature ejaculation, and fertility concerns."

(I don't think I have given much thought to fertility concerns.)

Sceptics will probably say "Gah, it's just a fancy name for a handjob."

However, the menu also says "only certain therapist" will do Kasai. In fact, I counted only 9 of the 28 boys pictured on their website (as of today) who had Kasai listed against their names. That's about one in three. This suggests that there is a set program/choreography to be followed. 

Optimists might wonder "Is this anything like an edging session?"

Have been to this shop three times before it moved to its present location a short distance away, it’s well managed with very clean facilities. 

What impresses me most,  however, is that it has retained six of the guys who were working there during my last visit just prior to Covid: Yod, Zee, Wit, Min, Tum and Pae. I remember Pae as being a skilled and attentive therapist.

This is a quite popular local shop in a busy urban area just this side of the Chao Phraya and within easy walking distance of MRT Bang Pho stop.

A search for information on “Kasai” massage frequently returns hits for “Karsai.”

Typically, a Karsai Nei Tsang session is preceded by a Chi Nei Tsang Abdominal massage treatment, slowly moving in deeper into the genital area. In fact, Mantak Chia, the founder of Karsai Nei Tsang, claimed that one can only become a first-rate Karsai therapist with years of extensive preceding training and practical experience in Chi Nei Tsang.

Kasai massage is part of the Chiang Mai massage tradition. Specifically it originates from Chiang Mai and the surrounding areas. It is very hard to find in other parts of Thailand and even in Chiang Mai, it is only a few places that offer the authentic thing. A lot of it has to do with massaging the area around the genitalia - the focus is on strengthening muscles, the nerves and improving blood flow for better erections; not on giving you a handjob and happy ending. Yes, there is also dick/yoni massage involved.

There is, or was, one disgusting old farang in Bangkok who claimed to provide Kasai massage and claimed to be properly trained in it. Trained or not, I assume that he just wanted to grab dicks. There are a couple of straight massage places that offer "kasai" massage from the ladies, but generally you can't find it in real massage houses in Bangkok. I would also be extremely sceptical of any place that claimed that all its masseurs were trained on how to do it. Practically the only places in Bangkok where you will find the real thing is places like 365 that cater almost exclusively to Thais, who know what Kasai is and go for health and treatment, not happy endings.

No, not really. There is a significant difference. The "urut batin" in Malaysia and Indonesia is only for men. Kasai has wider application and includes specific techniques for men and women - and what they actually do is quite different.
