Guest Posted December 22, 2021 Posted December 22, 2021 Considerable care is needed when selecting travel information sources for Thailand. On the one hand, we have usually reliable sources, like Richard Barrow, who posts on Fakebook, Twitter and a blog also often including the original government source. He's an excellent source of information. E.g. https://www.getrevue.co/profile/richardbarrow/issues/full-details-about-suspension-of-test-and-go-947139?fbclid=IwAR3hpSam3bdRyb1M5iklL7nK8JSMPGtWrP5rXR6tzLj73orox_nPKu2HU8Y Fakebook also have CCSA briefings and some other official Thai news. E.g https://m.facebook.com/nbtworld/ Then there are groups, such as the Thailand reopening one https://m.facebook.com/groups/phuketsandbox/ These can be of use as a last resort if you want to read about some actual travel experiences. However, some serious filtering is needed to sort the facts from the lies, or people reading and repeating the lies. Often, people who are too lazy to read existing information, post dumb questions, then someone posts an incorrect answer and they seem to believe it. Then this answer is repeated. Looking for and reading the actual rules seems to be too much for them. So the only time I trawl through this is in advance of a trip. Read through all the information, filter it carefully and preferably check for official sources, where available. Overall, I'm not a regular Fakebook user. I might just show up more regularly if I could easily filter out the material I like to see. Such as accurate reports on COVID rules (and perhaps the videos of cute lads prancing around in their underwear). Quote
