November 18, 20178 yr Wow, The new update made my computer way faster. Not really seeing any downside to it yet - which is rare for Firefox updates. What's everyone else seen with it?

November 18, 20178 yr Author Quantum certainly isn't keeping me from this site. That said the new iOS operating system has built in controls to keep you from certain sites you have to turn off.

If you're having problems, and are dissatisfied, I would suggest not using FF and use another browser.

That depends, but most probably yes. When you deleted your older version of FF last week, it should have automatically stored your data, settings, etc., to a desktop icon file (or elsewhere). While most old add-ons are now incompatible with the new Quantum, that's a moot point. If you have all of your bookmarks or have saved them in an uploadable file format, then I would say yes delete the file. I highly suggest creating a FF account (very simple - email/password) so you can sync your FF to any other device you're using - phone, tablet, two cups and a string, etc. Also, it's a fail-safe way of recovering your bookmarks should you ever encounter a more serious issue with your PC or are using a computer other than your own. To do this simply follow these steps: Click the menu button (three bars upper right hand corner of browser) , then click Sign in to Sync Click the Create Account button. I did sync my FF account to two other devices, and when I actually looked at the file "Old firefox data" there were a lot of pics and videos that had saved, but I found that Quantum had saved them also, so I was able to delete the old file. So far I am very happy with FF.
November 18, 20178 yr All of the new benchmark tests comparing Firefox quantum and chrome for speed, RAM usage, start up times, HTML5 rendering times etc., have Firefox Quantum equal to, and in some instances out performing chrome. As a lifelong Firefox user I could not be more delighted with this new rebuild. Last month I had to replace my 8 year old win7 Laptop, which I had upgraded to win10 three years ago. I bit the bullet and went with the pricier SSD versus the old and slower HDD. With the new i7 8th generation Intel processor and probably more RAM then I needed, the old Firefox performed above and beyond what I experienced on my old laptop. But when I installed the new Firefox Quantum, everything popped like never before. It’s so fast now, I actually have to watch porn in slow-motion now! LOL, j/k.
