Does any one know if there is a bus that goes from Pattaya to the airport? If so, what is the schedule or where can I find it? Does it leave from the regular bus station?

From Pattaya's main bus terminal (that's the 'regular' bus station) on North Road (Pattaya Nua) the airport buses run at the following times:

 

6:00 AM

9:00 AM

11:00 AM

1:00 PM

3:00 PM

5:00 PM

10:00 PM

 

The fare is 150 baht.

 

There is also an airport bus that runs from Soi Chaiyapruk (very far south on Jomtien Beach Road). It is located on Soi Chaiyapruk, about half a block from Jomtien Beach Road. The fare is 106 baht. That bus also stops at the secondary bus terminal on Sukhumvit Highway, just south of Central Road (Pattaya Klang). Sorry, I don't have the schedule for that bus.

The far is really cheap but is it comfortable ? A friend of mine took it last time I was there.. and when I picked him up at the station, gosh he was dripping sweat as they didn't have air Conditioning... But anyway for that price, you can't really beat it by any other transportation

The Bell Bus from Pattaya to the airport is excellent. A van picks you up in Pattaya and transfers you to the bus on Pattaya Nua. 150 baht fare includes both the van and bus.

 

From the airport you meet their rep near Door 7 on the lower level. But the rep is not at a booth but rather sitting on the chairs.

 

Very comfortable and driver does not drive like a maniac.

I found that the VIP bus to and from Pattaya is not only cheap but more comfortable and a lot less stress inducing than riding in a car wildly racing down the freeway. Better view and room on the bus (VIP bus has decent seats, good air conditioning, etc.) and, although it takes about 20 minutes longer, I'm not stressed out from the trip. Try it, you'll like it (I actually use it not because it's cheaper but it's more comfortable, at least to me).

 

But I do agree that the regular "fan" bus is pure torture. Did that once....but never again. Felt like a roasted chicken when I arrived.

The Bell Bus fare was recently raised to 200 baht. Still a great deal if their schedule is convenient for you.

I agree with Bob, it is a great deal and a good ride. I might add that they pick you up and drop you off at your hotel in Pattaya, so no need to red cab to and from the bus station. One of the best services that I have found in Thailand.

I always thought that the buses that go to and from Pattaya to Bangkok were government buses. I have never heard them referred to as VIP. They are blue and white buses and are quite comfortable with air conditioning, although sometimes you find a newer bus and sometimes you find one with several miles logged. I have always found the ride comfortable except once when I took an older bus and had a seat in the back (over the engine) and the air con was not cold enough. The buses leave from the Pattaya bus station on north pattaya road, close to Suhkimvit. There are three different distinations in Bangkok-- Ekamai, MoChit, and Southern bus terminals. The fare to Ekamai is about 120 baht and to MoChit about 130 baht, but not sure about Southern fare.

 

Btw, the bus to Ekamai will stop beforehand on request for instance at Sukhumvit and On Nut.

 

The ticket sellers at Ekamai may try to shortchange you; they did to me and someone else reported the same on another forum. Last time I took the bus it was 128 baht.

I have taken the bus from Soi Chaiyapruek to the airport many times. It is much more comfortable than the buses from the North Pattaya terminal. For 108 baht you even get free water and snack.

 

It is also good when you want to go to Bangkok, because you can get local buses from the airport to most neighborhoods in Bangkok.

Between 2nd Road and TukCom but on the other side of Pattaya Tai. Look for a sign that says Wet and Wild and the ticket seller is at a nearby stand. It stopped at a couple of other places in Pattaya but not sure how to arrange pickups at those stops.

I have been short-changed by the ticket seller at Ekamai once, about 3 or 4 years ago. I now make it a point to check my change before leaving the window or make sure I have the exact change.
