One of those things was to go to the unemployment office and run through some interest profiles which tell you what jobs would be a good fit for you. Once I got to the end of my profile, I looked at all the jobs and there was one that IMMEDIATELY caught my eye! It said TRAVEL GUIDE/ESCORT. I thought, "OH MY GOD! Not only can I BE an escort, they are saying it's OKAY for me to be one!" I immediately printed off the profile and went up to the desk and said "I would like to do this job please." He looked at it for a moment then said "Do you have any escort experience?" I said to him, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!" He looked stunned and then he said, "Okay, I'm not sure if escorting would be a good fit for you seeing how you look" I looked at him and said, "HEY! You're supposed to be positive and support my dreams. If I come in and say I want to be an astronaut then you should say, "Okay..let's get you to NASA." He promptly said, "Sir, I hardy make more than minimum wage. You vastly over-estimate the enthusiasm I have for this job." So I took my profile sheet and shuffled off to my car. Once I got in the car, I immediately got the best idea I've ever had! I called up NASA and said, "Hey..are you guys hiring astronauts and do they have to look hot?" They replied, "Yes sir. Our astronauts are very hot-looking so that young people yearn to be like them when they grow up." I said "Damn! Are there any jobs I can get there if I were ugly?" He replied, "Well, you could clean up the pigeon poop off the shuttle" I was excited until he said "Except that the shuttle doesn't fly anymore." I hung up the phone and dejected I went to Dairy Queen and ordered 3 large ice cream cones. If I can't get a job because I don't look hot enough then I'm damn well gonna enjoy myself looking how I do now. Quote
