Yes, the processing fee is a strange thing. Especially if it applies to all available forms of payment, they could add it right at the beginning. Even more strange is that different companies have different processing fees for the same method of payment. It's like if a supermarket has a fee for using the till to pay.

The Concorde is half French, but I agree that it is unique amongst civilian aircrafts and looks beautiful. I regret that she is not in operation any more. I wouldn't call it design. The Harrier is as ugly as sin, totally misshapen. But she's designed to fly, not to be beautiful. I saw her on the Berlin-Schönefeld airshow (maybe 2006?), she can really fly backwards. A beautiful British aircraft it the Avro Vulcan (a bomber). I saw the flight of the only airworthy copy on the Farnborough airshow (I think 2008 or 2009).

2011 Taipei Gay Parade: A Blog
ChristianPFC replied to a topic in Gay China, Taiwan, Hong Kong & Macau
I expressed myself ambiguously. The last picture of my previous post, on the side the top of the underwear (waisteband) is ok, but the bottom is too low, i.e. the underwear is too broad at the side. About 5cm on the side is optimum, but there are cases where much broader looks good as well. Fortunately, the majority of underwear worn in Thailand is to my taste and if not, there is a simple solution: take it off! The second picure in my previous post is from simonlover83 blog, posted in march 2011 (in case you want to check there for location). -

Interference from German. I mean Justme writes without spending spending much time thinking about it before he writes and without spending time to check and correct after he writes. -
2011 Taipei Gay Parade: A Blog
ChristianPFC replied to a topic in Gay China, Taiwan, Hong Kong & Macau
Now that the thread completely went on to discuss underwear and swimmwear (not that this would be a bad thing to do!), let me add my two cent. I have an undwear (or swimmwear) fetish, so this is an important subject. I have been collecting thoughts on underwear (and pictures) for a long time, but still didn't come to a conclusion. But I have to start somewhere. I don't like the cut of all the aqux, arena, dasics and speedo displayed in the pictures from the Gay Pride Taiwan. Fortunately, I like most of the underwear Thai boys wear (Calvin Klein, aussibum, Gabriel Homme). I think the cut of aqux, arena, dasics, speedo corroborate the saying that Asians have small dicks. Look at this picture. Is there anything in this swimmwear? I don't like low cuts. On the front, no pubic hair should be visible, on the back, no butt crack. Even though no pubic hair is visible, this one is too low for my taste: All these aqux, arena, dasics, speedo have a cut that forms more or less a horizontal bar, I prefer a style that could be described as T-sized: (in addition, I like it when the seams and rims have a different colour) Even though I am not a size queen, you should at least be able to see that there is somthing in the underwear: Here an example for a perfect fit on the but (not to large, not to small): Here an example for a perfect fit on front, however on the side it is too low for my taste: I like broad waistebands. I dislike all kinds of zipper, buckle and even the strings to change the size around the waist. -
I quite like that idea. The toilets are not used most time of the flight (on short flights I don't need a toilet on a plane, from Europe to Thailand I usually use it once or twice, but there I sometimes have to wait). I would not mind paying for the toilet, if the tickets are cheaper this way, and they will because more people fit in a plane. Of course, they could just keep the money and not lower the ticket prices. I flew with Ryanair several times and I can't complain.

Sure, you can charge up German bombings against Allied bombings, but my point is that Hitler did not get a Nobel Price and Churchill did. I once read an article about the Bengal famine of 1943 that largely blamed Churchill for the death of up to 4 million Indians. Checking on wikipedia, they cite him http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bengal_famine_of_1943 Whis displays the same attitude as Marie Antoinette (People have no bread? Why don't they eat cake?) Quick check on wikipedia: One might argue that human failings have nothing to do with being awarded a Nobel Price in Literature. Another example is Erwin Schrödinger (Nobel Prize in Physics in 1933) who designed a thought experiment where a cat dies or lives die depending on radiaocative decay. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schr%C3%B6dinger%27s_cat Even as a thought experiment, unacceptable to me!

The mystery is solved! Whereas Justme writes like it flows out of his feather, DaBoss spends time to think about his posts and to correct spelling, so he revealed on SGT. -
Ten out of Ten babies say NO to circumcision
ChristianPFC replied to ChristianPFC's topic in The Beer Bar
Thaiworthy, I read this joke with your ending as well. Circumcision is handed down generations like a religion. It's done to sons because it was done do their fathers. If parents believe in religion A, they will teach their children to believe in religion A. Cases where adults adopt an religion or have a circiumcision without medical need are probably very rare. I'm just lucky to be born in a largely atheistic area where no circumcions are performed, otherwise I might support circumcision and belong to a religion. -

I wouldn't believe that DaBoss is JustMe, but he disclosed this information himself on SGT, so I assume it's true. What surprises me is that DaBoss' English is devoid of mistakes (at least I didn't find any), whereas JustMe makes a lot of mistakes (and not just typos). -
The sauna was flooded in August, but I just read on gayinchiangmai that they cleaned it up after the water went away.

Ten out of Ten babies say NO to circumcision
ChristianPFC replied to ChristianPFC's topic in The Beer Bar
PFC means Private First Class (the equivalent of the rank I hand when I left the compulsory military service in Germany). But I like your idea! I found another joke about circumcision: (Can you believe it? The website I got this from does not allow copy paste! So I had to take a detour, therefore the formatting is left - to lazy to remove it.) -
I read about lobotomy some time ago, and re-read now http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lobotomy, and I am shocked again. Surprisingly, it was not used a means to cure homosexuality (at least I didn't found "gay" or "homosexual" in the wikipedia article). There were a few Nobel Prices that now with hindsight seem unwarranted. Let me quote from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDT In the following decades, DDT was banned worldwide. But this is science, so you have to see how things develop with time. But awarding the Nobel Price for Literature in 1953 to Winston Churchill who said something like he wants to fry the German fugitives in Dresden (Dresden bombing 1945, now generally considered as a war crime, I didn't search for the exact quotation) cannot be justified.

Unfortunately, the topic is no longer available on SGT, maybe it got out of had after I posted there some days ago on this subject. The reaction there was entirely negative. I too don't think this promotion is a good idea, there are a lot of technical problems (do you have documentation with you to prove that you are a veteran? Am I who served in compulsory military service in Germany a veteran?) -
I was there in August (in the sauna). I went by tuk-tuk and after sauna walked back to the night market (about 30 minutes for a fast walker). I recently saw a picutre (I think on the gaychiangmai website) of the terrace on which I was standing in August half a meter deep under water. So you might want to call if the sauna is open or still flooded or closed for drying and cleaning. It's located in the south east of the city, with a terrace to the river, you can find adverts in gay mags.

Strangely, despite having an interest in technology and even visiting air shows (Berlin, Farnborough; Le Bourget this year), I hardly take notice of which plane I am flying with when I travel to Thailand. I consider passenger airplanes (as well as cars and trains) as just a means to get from A to B. As a German, I am in favour of Airbus because a succesful Airbus means jobs and technology in Europe.

Ten out of Ten babies say NO to circumcision
ChristianPFC replied to ChristianPFC's topic in The Beer Bar
As an atheist I see no reason why members of whichever relegion have the protection of the state. It makes me cringe when in Germany freedom of religion is weighed agains animal protection laws, when Muslims want to slaughter cattle in the traditional way. It seems there are as many sites on the internet promoting circumcision as there are against circumcision. And I have to admit that my aversion against circumcision has religious traits: I believe in reasons against circumcision, and I don't believe in reasons for circumcision (other then acute medical reasons). What surprises me is that while female circumcision (with far greater disadvantages for the girls/women than male circumcision for men) is now outlawed worldwide (but still practiced in some areas), there are open support groups for male circumcision in civilized countries. The Yakuza cut of pieces of their finger when they make a mistake in their organization as an adult, so you can't compare this to circumcision. But it could be worse. There are religious minorities who did or still do cut off even more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hijra_%28South_Asia%29 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skoptsy -
Do you think music in gogo bars is too loud?
ChristianPFC replied to ChristianPFC's topic in Gay Thailand
You are right, the votes do not have equal weight, they should be weighted on how often the voter goes to bars. But we have a clear majority for "too loud" here and on gaybuttonthai, whereas on SGT half of those who voted think the music is not too loud (but does this mean the music is "ok" or "not loud enough"). Anyway, my decision to enter a bar or not is based on the boys, not on the music. And I am prepared against loud music in bars and discos: I use earplugs. -
NEW Message Board for gay Thailand planned
ChristianPFC replied to PattayaMale's topic in Gay Thailand
Let me quote what I wrote on gaybuttonthai on this subject: All this can be discussed on the existing boards. My opinion is that there are already too many boards about gay thailand (I read in no particular order: gaybuttonthai, sawatdee-gay-thailand, gaythailand, baht-stop, gaytingtong, if I missed any please let me know). Don't let me discourage you, but I see absolutely no point in opening a further board. Now that it has been mentioned here, of course GayThailandinfo, GayThailandguys can give rise to confusion with this board, so I advise against these names as well. The fact that a name that is not similar to one of the existing boards is difficult to find is an indication that there are enough boards. -

Do you think music in gogo bars is too loud? Music levels in gogo bars were discussed several times, and my impression always was that the vast majority of members think the music is too loud. But I'm biased because I think music is too loud in most gogo bars I visited. What do you think? This poll is not about a single bar, what's your opinion about the music level in gogo bars in general? (Copied from SGT and gaybuttonthai, where I started this poll some days ago, but the results are not conclusive: SGT 1:1 and gaybuttonthai 8:1 in favor for too loud)

I kind of have always and only been attracted to Far-East Asian guys (between Japan and Thailand). I once wrote a longer comment on a gay blog, that I will quote here with few edits and removing parts that are not relevant to the subject. So without internet, I would still be in the closet pretending to be asexual. When I think back to my time in Berlin, there was the Vietnamese cigarette mafia that hat men standing in metro stations with a pack of cigarettes on their side, but I found them as unattractive as Caucasians (or Thai men older than 40). The attractions of Far-East Asian men are absence of body hair, nice complexion (that's why blacks and latinos range next, with a big gap), faces, straight black hair (very attractive if bleached or dyed blonde, but not in orange or brown) and slim bodies. So I came first and still come as a sex tourist. Now I have prospects of finding work in Thailand (I study Thai language to facilitate this) and living with a Thai boyfriend.

Re Saran Rom / Royal Palace So probably I was unlucky when I was in the area. I shall go again if time permits on my next holiday. Now I know enough Thai to arrange deals without having a friend for translation (anyway, most of my friends are fuckbuddies as well, and those who are not fuckbuddies are not into the prostitution scene, so it would be awkward to asks any of my Thai friends to help me translating). I remember boys between the Royal Palace and Saran Rom park and between Royal Palace and the river. That's a few minutes walk, easily done by foot. Or is the area even more wide spread so you really have to go by taxi (for cruising around)?

Yes, the tone on SGT is a bit rougher! (I read and replied to your thread there.) I have been worrying about loud music in bars and discos sice I started travelling to Thailand, and came to a conclusion: I always take earplugs with me, and when I enter such a location, I use them. One might argue that they hinder communication (by shouting into each other's ear), but they don't. I can understay what my friends say/shout at me, the level of music and what they say are decreased in the same ratio.
