Some of Jey Spa's boys appeal to me, but a while ago I had a look at their price list: no, thanks, not with me.

I have been to several of the Saphan Kwai / Inthamara massages and was happy every time with massage and afters. That does not mean that I would take the same masseur again, but performance and attitude were good.

Over the years, I had three boys stay with me for days. That was not based primarily on money, although I paid for all expenses and gave them pocket money 300-500 per day. All cases quickly turned sour for different ideas of how to spend the day, what to do in bed, where and when and what to eat, where to go for sightseeing. In one case, the boy was new to Bangkok and had no own room and thought he could stay with me undetermined time, I had to flee: trip to Udon Thani (alone, the boy wanted to join but I made up an excuse) and gave him two days notice. Nowadays, I even refuse overnights (again speaking of free encounters) when there is no clear plan for the following day from the boy's side. But there is one I invited to stay with me 3 days 2 nights and all went fine, and I know some more I would invite. But all cases that I have met several times before and we have shared interests.

Yes it is awful by my standards. As a counterexample, I currently have two regulars who come to my room for 1000 for one hour Thai massage (they would do oil as well, but I don't want oil on my bedlinen) and fun afterwards. The equivalent of empty stage in a gogo bar. Some gogo have minutes of gap between acts, and many years ago Adam's Apple in Chiang Mai even had the audacity to play music videos from youtube to entertain the customers while stage is empty. Back to Zoo Spa, shower alone and soaking in hot tub alone I can do at home for much cheaper (figuratively, I don't have a hot tub but there are general saunas in Thailand that have). In some Saphan Khwai / Inthamara massage places it's standard that the masseur washes you in shower after massage (I don't know if it's policy of the place or the masseur's decision).

There is a sub-forum, accessible only to members, on sawatdeenetwork, where we discuss service providers. But it's not popular. With some of my Farang friends, we discuss the boys we meet extensively. I would like to read such reports, but it does not seem popular on the forums. I did my part of sharing, now let others do the same (e.g. the OP, where is your contribution?). Such information can save a lot of time and money, and indeed did for me and friends. Fortunately, most of my encounters are of a way that I would meet the guy again, and if the encounter is not what I'm looking for, it's not his fault and I would recommend him to friends. But some are useless in bed, various issues/problems/troubles, I would post that as well to save others the expense and disappointment. Grindr is poor for this subject, because there is no way to link to a profile (whereas in hornet, blued, romeo you can link or search by name).

Last prices I have heard from staff in Bangkok gogo bars before Covid was more often 2000 than 1500 for short time. That's why I take all my business to Pattaya (1000 short time in Sunee or online, everyone eager to go with me again) or online (in Bangkok 1000, those who want more, good luck with someone else). For massage with happy ending (handjob or blowjob) I pay 800 in Bangkok, that means I don't go to Silom (where prices are higher and it's a matter of luck if there is a happy ending, and price and activities have to be negotiated), but to Saphan Khwai and Inthamara.

Completely different from Babylon, but 39 underground is certainly worth a visit. I have Farang friends who are regular customers. I go once a year. Mostly Thai, but rarely spot someone who is my type. The place is brimming on weekend evenings to nights.

You are under the common misconception that the boy can show you around, or enjoys the same things you do. In my early years in Thailand, I tried to drag boys around, usually a disaster. Over the years, I have found only few travel mates.

Same here. Paid and even free encounters, some are what I call "lazy bottom", which is not my style. And I found no other way than actually having the boy in bed, that's why I go through such high numbers (by my standards, up to 10 new boys every month) to find the few who are good matches in bed.

The article is bland and lacks hard facts. If I had to summarize it, there would be zero. (PeterRS put it much better). However, similar can be said by articles about gay Bangkok written before ChatGPT. Droning about history and culture (copy paste from elsewhere?), and there must be "hustle and bustle" and "wind down" at least once in the article; whereas all I want to know is "where and how much?".

I passed again and found it. There is a sign to Nap Bangkok Massage at the end of Inthanin, and the manager of Nap Bangkok led me up to Zoo. Prices confirmed, and upon when asking for expected tip he said something like "1500 for soft service", and I left it at that. Upon my request, he called the two masseurs who were available, and indeed better looking than average. But still would be worst value for money I ever had, so I left with an excuse. In Inthamara, I had 1 hour oil massage for 350 THB and minimum tip for masseur 700, that's 1050; less than 1 hour oil massage at Zoo 1200. Chances of a good encounter here as high as there.

I hate receiving gifts other than money, as it's usually stuff I don't want and/or don't need. For that reason, I don't give gifts, only money, but in very few cases. The few money boys who have performed well on several encounters get a bonus on 5th encounter (that would be 500 THB on top of the 1000 I usually pay). My Thai friends either are wealthy enough not to need monetary gifts from me, or not deserving due to character flaws (I pay them what we agreed to, and that's it). In all those years, there is just one boy in Cambodia (not a money boy), where I feel that my money can make a difference (he likes to travel, but money is the limiting factor) and I passed him a few notes (against his initial protest). Most boys I know would just squander the money. If you want to make the boy happy, it doesn't matter how he spends it, but I would only give money that I know is being spent on purposes I approve of. When it comes to squandering my money, I rather do it myself.

I have similar stories of chasing boys for years and finally getting lucky. I had a great off in Eros, the boy left shortly after but I got his contact details from waiter. I don't know what was the problem on the boy's side, but it took me 5 years until I could meet him again. Great body and activities as first time we met. But don't drag it on too long! A boy I met in 2013, I saw again last year. 9 years can change a lot, in this case negative, not attractive any more. A video call would have saved me the time and money to meet him.

No idea what kind of misunderstanding or what schemes happened between the boy, the mamasan, the previous potential customer, the following customer (if any). At least it seems it was not an attempt to scam you for money. I'm very sensitive to sex on clock, if someone tells me has only limited time, I rather skip. I had a similar experience in my early days, 2010 or 2011, when everything was new to me. I offed a boy in a bar in Pattaya and took him for a stroll over Walking Street instead of going directly to my hotel. Then finally in my room, I was just reaching out to touch, a phone call from mamasan. The boy forwarded the call to me and mamasan told me the boy has to come back now (mother sick in hospital, is that my memory or did I read that story too often?). I wrote it off as bad luck and gave the boy 500 THB (I didn't have more on me that time, else I would have given 1000; nowadays of course nothing and ask my off-fee back - nowadays I wouldn't take anyone to a walk).

Not just that, it's illegal by law in Thailand and Cambodia. A tourist in Cambodia who rode a motobike naked was deported a few years ago. In the locker rooms of gay saunas, most other customers change under a towel. I'm the only one who drops everything. The subject of nudist places has been discussed many times in the forums. If there is any at all, it can only be in a private place.

I passed there last week and didn't see any sign, neither at the location on google maps nor nearby. There is indeed an Inthanin on streetview, I will look there next time. That would be the first time I missed a gay place I was looking for. The boys in the pictures are indeed cute, many my type, but 3000 total for a handjob by a fully dressed masseur would be the worst value for money I ever had. I would call it a scam.

Personal experience? If yes, please share. Everything I heard about gay activities in Africa is either scam or dangerous.

I vaguely remember that the proof of leaving Thailand has to be a flight, bus or train probably not accepted. I would buy a ticket to Baan Khlong Luek (border crossing to Poipet) for 49 Baht, but only available in railway station and only (how many weeks?) in advance. I once used onwardticket or similar service, but didn't have to provide proof of leaving Thailand. The booking can be searched and will be found in airline databases, but I didn't like that the printout did not have any airline name or logo, and can immediately be recognized as fake (in the sense that you won't be on that flight). The screenshot is from online visa, and they are asking for proof of travel TO Thailand. Makes no sense, and I would rather get the visa first and arrange travel later, but that's how it is. As if someone pays 35 EUR (in my case) for the visa and then does not travel to Thailand without a good reason.

I have entered Thailand many times by air, with tourist visa or even without, and only once been asked (by airline) for an onward flight. That was from Taipei to Bangkok, and I bought a fully refundable flight with same airline. I got the refund, but fees (exchange rate, credit card payment fee, processing fee by airline) were higher than a cheap flight in the area would have cost. If I get in that situation again, I would hope not to be asked for an onward ticket, or argue with check-in staff, but have everything ready on my phone to buy a cheap ticket or use an onward-ticket-service so I can do it on the spot.

Those questions, gay-friendly whatever, come up regularly. I think the idea of "gay friendly" is a western concept that does not apply to Thailand, or SEAsia in general. You can eat, drink, stay with gay friends wherever you want in straight, mixed or gay venues, nobody will care.

Over the years, I have flown estimated 12 different airlines, with change of airplane in their hub, between Berlin and Bangkok. Whichever was cheaper and had good departure time and stopover time. "Does anybody know some other cheap routes flying from Europe to BKK? I am based in the UK." Those would come up on the usual flight search websites.

The Taipei sauna Soi13in is the best I have been to. In 3 months in 2018, I went 14 times and had fun 12 times. Elsewhere the ratio is 5 visits and 1 time fun. However the success in sauna did not translate to online dating. I largely gave up on Taiwan for gay activities but will go again for tourism. For me, online dating in Taiwan is a black hole. I follow a few cute boys in hornet and get shown other profiles, and I messaged about 20, some even twice, but nothing ever comes back. Zero. Nil. My two weeks in Brazil (SP and Rio in Sep 2020) were rather poor boy-wise, but there is potential and I like the vibe in general and the hiking in Rio. There is potential boy-wise that I hope to open next time.
