  1. And one more reason for not holding hands in public (I just had a boy who initiated, so we did): palms get sweaty!
  2. Phnom Penh should be compared to Bangkok, and Sihanoukvill to Pattaya. From my few trips to Cambodia: food and traffic are awful, boys are cute.
  3. Indeed, I thought is was much more homogeneous: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laos Ethnic groups (2005[1]) 53.2% Lao 11% Khmu 9.2% Hmong 3.4% Phouthay 3.1% Tai 2.5% Makong 2.2% Katang 2.0% Lue 1.8% Akha 11.6% othera However Cambodia is homogenous https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cambodia Ethnic groups (2013[1]) 97.6% Khmer 1.2% Chams 0.1% Vietnamese 0.1% Chinese 0.9% Other
  4. Chiang Mai bus or songtheo is a bit more complicated than Pattaya, see here: http://christianpfc.blogspot.com/2016/07/buses-in-chiang-mai.html http://slice-of-thai.com/cmbus/ Some places like Korat and Khon Kaen even have printed maps (free at Tourist Information) with their bus and songtheo lines!
  5. Necking? (None of the definitions on internet make sense in this context.)
  6. It might be because Lao and Cambodia are homogeneous, whereas Myanmar has many races. If a Myanmar boy says he is from Chiang Mai, he probably is and considers himself Shan, which means nothing to the average tourist ans just leads to more questions.
  7. Happened to me as well. I have been to Chiang Mai several times, so I ask which amphoe they come from, and then usually the truth comes out. If I have gotten to that point, I want him and can forgive the lie. But still, the question why remains. Cambodian boys usually tell me they come from Cambodia.
  8. With public transport poor compared to Bangkok, I choose a hotel so I can do most of my sightseeing by walking. When I went for nightlife years ago, I stayed in Chang Phuak hotel (rather expensive for my standards at 700 per night), so I could walk to Adam's apple and Chang Phuak bus station. For sightseeing around Wat Suan Dok, I stayed in Green Hotel (great value for money at 550 per night). For both hotels, I like the architectural style as well (for me a contributing factor where to stay, I wouldn't want to stay in a place that I find ugly even if it's cheap).
  9. It was paintings by a Thai artist. Now that you ask, there is more about that auction elsewhere on the forums (gaybutton in 2012 or 2013?), and the paintings went at ridiculously low prices, and the artist complained he could have sold them for much more and donated that to charity, or something like that, from memory. There was dissent.
  10. I'm surprised how many members here speak German, or at least can write a greeting in German.
  11. I don't know of any bars, but there are discos that have over 98% Thai customers (Fake, Sake) and saunas (all except Babylon). For karaoke with mainly Thai customers look in Saphan Kwai area http://christianpfc.blogspot.com/2014/09/chatuchak-and-pradipat-gay-bars-update.html
  12. I thought the same but would have let this pass as it really is not relevant to the subject, but you are right, Wichian Buri is in Petchabun and hence part of Northern Thailand. Congratulations to your knowledge of Thai geography or your command of google.
  13. Most advertising has young, healthy, slim people.
  14. From the other pier to the railway station it's about 500 m walk, and the way is not obvious.
  15. Somehow, I never saw a boy I liked or any other reason to go to Double Shot. The only occasion I remember going to that bar was when they had a charity auction (lead by Monty, when he was still alive) years ago.
  16. Then you were lucky to get the last train. Farose 2 has accommodation (pretty basic rooms for 300 THB ? per night) and a friend who comes from far away occasionally stays there. But if you can sleep everywhere, sleep on their furniture in the sauna as many others do.
  17. Thanks to both of you (samebb and sglad - wherever you come from and whoever you are) for your advice. There we go again: ball games! In my entire life, I was forced about 10 times to participate in ball games (football or volleyball during school - in the army they quickly realized I'm of no use and I was allowed to spend the time running around the football field, an activity I enjoy much more). Yes indeed, I get invitations to join, but sorry, if that's the way to meet cute boys, I rather pay. The statistic is against me when it comes to meeting possible sexual partners via friends or friends of friends: assuming the group is not gay, there is a chance of 1:20 that one of them is gay, another 1:20 that he is my type, another 1:20 that I'm his type, that makes 1:8000. I once had an invitation to join a boy (good English) to church (!), better than football, at least I can enjoy the architecture, but I fell uncomfortable during religious activities. It seems I have been through all options and there is only the gay saunas (free) and gay bars (pay) left for me. I haven't been to DJ station this year (?) but it's on my list, I will watch out.
  18. This statistic is almost meaningless. First, the differences are insignificant (6000 at the lower end and 7000 at the higher end). Second, various countries are missing: the US, GB, Germany, France, New Zealand, Malaysia, Russia (all countries that have significant numbers of tourists in Thailand). Third, you would have to multiply the numbers in the statistic by duration of stay by number of tourists from that country.
  19. ??? How did you get there and away? (At the time the sauna is busy, the only reasonable way to get there and away is by taxi. You can go by bus along Ramkhamhaeng road, but at night you might have to wait half an hour for a bus. And there is the Saen Saep Canal boat, which starts around 6 am, that would be an option for those who stay that long. However when I once stayed up to around 3 am - unusually late for me - there was already a decline in customer numbers, and many sleeping.)
  20. I have very little interaction with mamasans and will keep it that way. But interestingly, for others it seems to work to do all their interaction via mamasan:
  21. The saunas and apps are full of them.
  22. Sorry to hear. At the same time (Wed 19jul2017, 20:47-22:25) I was in Prism which was full of boys (I counted 17, might have been more) and several my type.
  23. Where can I meet them?
  24. There is one more gay sauna Club One Seven a bit out of town. And if you haven't been to Adam's Apple, you should!
  25. You can get there by bus or by train (what a surprise!). Buses best from southern bus terminal, trains from near Wong Wian Yai (a small railway station that serves only that line, including one crossing of river by ferry and then boarding another train). Timetables and details on the internet.
