  1. The above post by GB speaks for itself. In light of GB's remarks I will amend my statement about Laurence. Laurence left the forum because he was one step from being thrown out. Perhaps others left for the same reason? Now that we both have had our say, hopefully this will be the last of the exchange and not let it go on ad infinitum/ad nauseam as the exchanges on the BahtStop. Below is GB's actual reply to Laurence. Gaybutton Posted 05 July 2009 - 01:28 PM QUOTE(laurence @ Jul 5 2009, 01:08 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> As usual you can and will have the last word. That's right. And my last word to you is don't let the door slam you in the ass as you leave. We'll try really hard to struggle along without you. Meanwhile, I'm sure people who wish to ask questions appreciate your departure announcement. Now they'll know they can post their questions and they'll know I mean business when I assure them they won't have to put up with put downs. Apparently you thought being a moderator means I'm going to allow you to insult and name call. You thought wrong.
  2. Regarding mattress toppers, I saw them on sale in the USA at about $350 (11,000 TB) but two for price of one. Size and thickness did not make a significant difference on the price. This price at two for one seems comparable to what GT reported, 5000+ Baht for the one he purchased in Pattaya. The ones I saw were made in USA.
  3. Now that there is a change in management, I believe a more tolerant view of what can and cannot be posted will insure more participation. Furthermore, a more hands off approach by the moderator(s) will allow for more participation. In the past the Moderator had to be the first, middle and final poster of all things and woe unto him who defied his rules. A moderator should encourage and moderate, not chastise and dominate.
  4. When asked what do I do in Thailand, I have learned to keep my mouth shut and never reveal the truth. So just say, eat, drink, sleep and relax. For me, an hour or so at the gym breaks up the middle of the day otherwise I vegatate until the evening begins. And never, never use the word "boys" to describe your close encounters of the third kind.
  5. TJ, there seems to be no more to read? I know of farang who have been set up in order to extract money from them. It is fortunate that they could buy there way out of the situation since justice is not always blind here.

  7. For those of you who may not be familiar with the upper lounge at Happy, you will notice, in the photos, tissue dispensers on all the tables. That says it all. Oh, they do dim or close the lights at each love nook.

    Just for fun

How strange. When I read the names I thought it did say Leonardo DiCaprio and not DiVinci!
  9. My experience is that some do understand, some don't and some don't care. I am dealing with my bf who I promised a fixed allowance, but that was when the rate was 40 Baht to the USD. Now it is costing me significantly more to keep my promise. His costs are still the same and does not understand that it is costing me much more. But then, all farang are rich. At one time I would not think of lowing my "tip" for services provided by bar boys, etc but now I am reconsidering that.
  10. No gay bars in Thailand would be like sucking on a shriveled up tit. Not worth the effort.
  11. Yes, gold is at an almost record high. In USD one ounce of gold is about $1240. I remember when I bought gold at $200 and sold it at $300 and I thought I was doing well.
  12. Even if serious, I found your comment about beggars blocking the sidewalk very amusing. In Pattaya blocking sidewalks seems to be a way of life whether by beggars, merchants, motorbikes, cars, people, construction or any other way to confound the pedestrian.
  13. I love your response beachlover. I hope it was a form of sarcasm? If they are limbless or blind I usually give them a kick and then scurry off.
  14. Yes, it is a good idea for name tags. I mentioned that in an earlier discussion of the Meet and Greet. GB replied that I should bring them. Since I am not in Thailand at present perhaps you could take on that role? At gay social events I have attended in the past, the use of a stick on name tag is a great help. They are available at Friendship Market on second floor.
  15. Not so sure about that TJ. Most recently my drink may have been 99 but the boy's drinks were all 150 Baht. It seemed they were only drink a coke so don't know why the difference.
  16. Jason raises a good point. Where are these toppers made? I heard that this particular store was owned by Russians. Am I right, wrong or what?
  17. For the record, Bubbles is now Happy PLACE in Pattayaland, not to be confused with Happy Boys, in vicinity of Sunee Plaza, or the girlie Happy Bar which I believe is in Jomtien Complex.
  18. Staff from Nice did tell me that they would re-open on or about the 15th.
  19. Sorry, I was not condemning those who frequent go-go bars, or any bars or venues, such as massage houses, that offer sexual services. The reason I am here, as most of us, is to partake in such services, even if it is just sitting and watching and lusting. My point was that Sin City is not Disneyland, and those posters who are morally outraged by some of the ancillaries related to "sin" are the hypocrites. No matter where you are in the world, where there is sex tourism and prostitution, there will other illegal activities such as drugs, underage, disease, corruption, greed, gambling, crime and on and on. If this type of environment is not acceptable then best to plop down in the rocking chair and watch the world pass you by.
  20. We all have our opinions, but Boyztown, Sunee Plaza and the venues in Bangkok and elsewhere in Thailand, whether for male or female, are not Sunday School picnics. Anyone who frequents any sexually oriented bar or club for any reasons is no saint or angel. A hypocrite perhaps!
  21. No doubt that there were staff under the age of 18 however it seems doubtful there were few if any under 15 yo. Newspaper reports are not reliable and have a tendency to sensationize.
