It's problem taking hold in many countries. There's a chart early on that shows SK's debt issues are even worse. And of course they also have an even bigger birthrate issue. We certainly live in interesting times.

Thanks for sharing this. I spent a couple of all-too-brief days in Kyoto last Autumn. Definitely need to go back there and Osaka.

Anybody watching Heart Killers?

Sorry I missed this old thread when it happened. I posted a review of this place a while back. Essentially, pretty boys but VERY expensive for not a lot of satisfaction.

TNT rounded up lots of different news articles. Sounds like he was special needs and people really took advantage of him for their own entertainment -
Young Thai influencer dies after alcohol drinking challenge

apparently this poor guy was abused by lots of people -
Yes, some of them do have walk ins possible. But choosing from the menu is probably the best option for most people. The websites are generally quite comprehensive. If you look at the websites under their "system" it will tell you if you can walk in or if you need to book ahead. A couple of the places I made arrangements through just had regular apartments to meet the boys I had selected rather than a shop or bar.

Bangkok is full of very nice hotels that belong to the western chains and independents or Asian chains that are on par with those kinds of hotels. They've got to all compete with each other. So don't be afraid to branch out beyond Marriott and Hilton unless collecting points and nights are important to you. As for closest to the action, I think everybody has covered the options pretty well. But if you decide to branch out farther (like Sukhumvit or even the cluster of options at Ratchadamri there are many very nice hotels at reasonable prices I haven't been to Pattaya in a while, but there the standard wasn't quite as high last time I was.

It might be one of those "it depends". I think he offered to bottom for me

I recently stayed at the voco in Osaka. The brand is very boutique-y and designer. But I think 4 star seems correct. I think that's a good addition for the neighborhood. But I'm a bit of an IHG loyalist.

seems to be a feature of lots of different Japanese businesses these days. Maybe they're learning from Thailand

Le Meridien is very good and the breakfast was great. I'd throw Crowne Plaza Lumpini into the mix. It's my go-to because I mainly stay at IHG hotels. Very good breakfast buffet and eggs cooked to order. Excellent location for BTS and MRT

I met a guy at Chance Shin-Okubo. Their apartment was decent. Unfortunately chemistry was lacking with the guy I selected. Everything was prearranged via email so I don't know if it qualifies as a "brothel" exactly. This guy spoke no English and I speak no Japanese. But the international language of love is the same. As I mentioned in the other thread I met a very sweet guy from Topboy. He spoke English well. Generally I think there's no issue with foreigners or age. They're providing a service to older men in general. Some of them do say that the guy can refuse anal if you're too big. I'm in Osaka at the moment. Met a totally sweet boy from DG last night. Their place was easy to find. I think they qualify more as a traditional brothel. You can apparently walk in and choose an available guy. But I prebooked. He was exactly what I was looking for. Totally adorable little guy. Very cuddly. We spent our full 90 minutes together. Overall I'm enjoying Osaka more than Tokyo. It's got a more laid back vibe and it just seems more manageable. Lots of narrow, one way streets. It feels more youthful and a little but grungy. I was in Kyoto for a couple of days. Lots of students there so I suppose you might be able to meet some one on an app. I think I will plan to spend more time in Kyoto and Osaka next time. Sadly the weather was not great the past couple of weeks.

So, I'm staying in Shinjuku at the moment. While out wandering around it's impossible not to notice all of the billboards for all of the host clubs with pretty made-up boys. You also see them walking around the street in addition to all of the girls who are all dressed up. I am intrigued but I don't know if they are for women or men. And I suspect they're mostly an operation to separate you from as much of your money for the least amount of work as possible. But I wondered if any of you have experience with these places. Obviously the agencies full of escorts are easy enough and plentiful. So I presume these host clubs are for a different sort of clientele. There seems to be a lot of prostitution in this town. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I finally arrived in Japan a couple of days ago. Jet lag is hitting me today. But I did have a chance to meet "Sho" at Topboy this evening. https://tokyo.topboy-massage.com/staff/kakeru/ The "massage" wasn't much of a massage and he was about 15 minutes late to our appointment. But he's very sweet, handsome and has a very hot, toned little body. And he speaks quite good English. He's studying to be a personal trainer. We did the things I wanted to do and we both came. Setting things up was a good bit of email back and forth of which I will spare you the gory details. But in the end their apartment was quite easy to find and a short walk from my hotel in Shinjuku. For a 90 minute "play course" appointment at their place I paid 21K yen (about US$140) as a first time visitor. I haven't settled on any other meetings yet but I am in Tokyo until Sunday so I have time for a couple of more meetings and I'll have some time in Osaka next week. While of course it's a bit more expensive than Thailand it's not quite as much more than in the past, it was quite a bargain by US standards. I wish I had discovered this option years ago. So many gorgeous boys working for these places...

Average Male body hair distributions- Geographically
fedssocr replied to floridarob's topic in The Beer Bar
I think Europe generally is much less hairy than this map implies. And South Asia much more hairy that the map shows -
https://maps.app.goo.gl/6XdSJ4VS6TzTX9RK6 Looks like it's up north off the yellow line monorail route right by the Lat Phrao 101 station

The photographer is typically the most important variable in any photograph. I just picked up the new Google Pixel 9 Pro. Last year's Pixel 8 models had similar camera hardware and computational photography tools. So, you might consider a Pixel 8 since it will be less expensive now. IPhone's have pretty good photography reputations but they're not exactly cheap unless you go for an older model.

I believe this. My guess is that it has ever been thus, but social stigma kept most in the closet. I have a young friend (21) who identifies as bisexual. I think he leans more gay out of some necessity, but I believe him that he is pretty much equally attracted to women and men. He has never had much luck with women but guys love him (including me). He's got lots of issues.

I've been decluttering my home in phases. Now that I've been working from home full time I don't need a lot of clothes I've accumulated over the years. So I donated a car full. And still have too much left. It does feel liberating to get rid of things.

Thailand will require Electronic Travel Authorization for all travelers
fedssocr replied to reader's topic in Gay Thailand
I wonder if there will be a fee involved? In general I don't have an issue with these ETA requirements if the system is well-implemented. The MFA makes these pronouncements from time to time and then nothing happens. That Japan is planning 5-6 years ahead is fairly striking.
