The nightclub in Siam Reap is Zone One, not Zero One, and I can endorse it as good fun. And it takes all sorts, because I had a great time at Figo bar, as well as La Linga, in Siam Reap.

What posts have misleading information on Sawatdee? If such posts exist please point them out.....
-
Ah yes, but then they would have to pay tax on their earnings. A visa run is cheaper.

If you are visiting clubs in Bangkok outside the tourist areas, you will be required to show ID, usually passport, to gain entry.

Oh dear, is the owner of Niddy's Nook posting under the name of Rose, pretending to be a satisfied customer?

Happy to know that both GT and GB have checked the bar in question and found that there were no under age guys there. As I wrote, I had never been there, but I am reassured that the concern expressed by several posters was apparently misplaced. As this is the case, presumably the owner would no longer mind if the name of the bar is mentioned or further promoted here? It seems a shame to miss out on the publicity! I understood that this forum was hosted abroad, and that therefore the usual concern about Defamation did not apply, as a Thai Court would be unable to prove ownership of the site, and that therefore any action by a complainant was pointless. Probably not worth all the hassle anyway, of upsetting people, if the point of having the site is just for personal fun.

Only one paragraph of the article relates to the 1932 coup, or coups prior to the 1970s. I hardly think that the current censorship applies to events of twenty and thirty years ago, but if you wish to use this as the justification to keep your "understanding" and "other interpretations" to yourself, I daresay we will all have to survive without your special insights.

How does your recall of these events differ? It seemed a well written and accurate account, given the anount of ground covered in a short article.

The actions of the Moderators in this matter speak volumes for the priorities on this forum.

Actually the ex-captains, Khun Kaew and Khun Sa-oh, were making a go of it........which was not unnoticed by their landlord, who demanded a whopping increase in rent, which they refused to pay, and closed down voluntarily rather be blackmailed. Khun Kaew has been travelling in India, while Khun Sa-oh is working at James Dean Bar.

Maurice and I are talking about the same person.

There is concern in another thread about gay visitors to Thailand being tarred with the pedophile brush. Do our Moderators think it helps if they keep referring to their boyfriends as their "boys"?!
-
It looks like a typo, should be "while he was getting his luggage".
-
To the boys The Godfather is also known as Thaksin, due to the physical similarities and business practices. Behind his back of course.

Agreed. The other downside of overstaying is if you get stopped by the police, for whatever reason, without a valid visa, it is likely to be a trip to the cells, rather than an overstay fine.

By shooing he means shooting. Wouldn't want a few deaths outside to come between LMTU and a night "in full flow".

Well if a reviewer can praise the atmosphere of a restaurant that isn't open yet.......... Enjoy your meals gentlemen, I could feel your glands salivating from here. For the best Angus beef, shouldn't the cattle be grazing on sumptious Scottish grass?

Is this Earwig or Monty or LMTU or Bigboy4u or one of the others? Anyway, just try speaking the quoted sentence without taking a breath. First Prize goes to anyone who succeeds without inhaling further. What do you think first prize should be?

I agree with the comments on the absence of decor, unless you count "crack house" as a design, which was accompanied by a strong smell of urine and dirty glasses. The boys were no great shakes, and it went on my "Not to Bother Visiting Again" list.

You mean there IS a Hitler's Deli in Pattaya too? Or is irony just way over your head?
-
I prefer to eat at Hitler's Deli! God isn't Pattaya the pits of taste. If anywhere deserved the fate of Sodom and Gomorrah, this is surely the place.

I don't have any sympathy for Papa David and his criticisms of Niddy's, a place of which I have no knowledge except for the comments on message boards. Gaybutton has accused Papa David of hijacking a third thread, however I would say that this thread has been hijacked by one person posting under three separate names LMTU/Monty/earwig. Despite LMTU's assertion that it was just an accident that he, in error, took over a computer on which Monty had previously been signed in, this seems extremely unlikely, not least because Monty had never posted on this forum before that night, and all the posts under his name on that night bear LMTU's trademark. I also understand that Monty wasn't even in Pattaya that night, so the likelihood of LMTU's explanation is even more remote. That leaves us with two possibilities, either deliberate mischief making, or these two posters, LMTU and Monty, are one person posting under the same name. Now where does the third face, of Earwig, fit in? You had better ask Monty/LMTU. I would have thought that this mischief making should be of far greater concern to any moderator than one poster obsessing over Niddy's. Given what I have been told of the history of the hydra wars on another forum, and the possibility of a moderator's connivance in that, I think it is in Gaybutton's interest to ensure that that mud could not be thrown here. Instead Gaybutton seems to be more concerned with Papa David, who simply gives every appearance of a professional moaner, as opposed to a deliberate mischief maker.
