I wonder how this will impact on both those needing to show proper funding for retirement visas, and those looking to purchase property? It won't be great to have 30% of your transferred money sitting somewhere, gaining little or no interest.

When you say "again" your information is incorrect, what previous occasion are you referring to, in order to justify the "again"? If you don't live in Pattaya where do you live? Pattaya People may not be a magnet for the gay society in Pattaya, if such a thing exists, but just how many newspapers are there in Pattaya that would contain the information that exists in Earwig's post? Nobody told you Pattaya Mail. I merely quoted the warning from there regarding unauthorised reproduction of their articles as a cautionary note. When Gaybutton queried that post, I pointed out the obvious, that Earwig had clearly not authored the post placed under his name. Gaybutton, thank you for your gracious apology. You provide much useful information generously, perhaps it would be best supplied as a poster rather than a moderator.
-
Yes dear, and I have heard that pigs are flying over Jomtien. As for your moderator, he was told that the article was stolen from elsewhere, and failed to do the most elemenatary checking. I had never even heard of the "Pattaya People", but you all live in Pattaya, so presumably you had. This is after all the self proclaimed "Gay Thailand Information Source"!
-
Having pointed out the blindingly obvious, and for doing so been castigated by the Moderators as being part of some malevolent hate campaign, I look forward to the sincere apology.
-
My posting was never about personalitites or hate or whatever the Moderators responses appear to have accused me of. It was about the fact that the opening post was clearly not the work of the author, based on commonsense and previous posting history. If it had been posted by someone else I would also have drawn attention to this and asked that the original author be credited. Are you guys really telling me that you believe that the detailed information in the opening post came from the "authors" contacts, rather than from a newspaper article?!!
-
Gaybutton, you don't really believe that Earwig is capable of originating all the writing in that post? For a start, it contains punctuation, only a couple of spelling mistakes, and is comprehensible. You don't actually believe that all the information contained in the post came from Earwig's own " sourses (sic)"? That these "sourses" actually provided him with the number of the arrest warrant in Germany? No. 64739277 apparently. You don't actually believe that his contacts were discussing the case with Police Colonel Sutin? You don't actually believe that most, if not all the information contained in the post, names and ages etc of all involved, were obtained without recourse to someone else's article, whether that was from the Pattaya Mail or elsewhere? Earwig, or was it LMTU, regularly used to post complete articles on SWF forum without crediting the original sources, until the members there took to pointing out from where the articles were stolen. We all want to share information, but taking another persons work, and claiming it as your own is not on, and someday one of the gay Thailand boards is going to be hit because of it. I happened to read the warning on the Pattaya Mail website within an hour of reading this originating post, and thought it appropriate that it should be brought to the moderators and readers attention, because they appear to be getting ready to take some board on.

Five stars to you PattayaMale for this comment.

And earwig, the reason that you have been banned from so many forums, in so many guises, is because you provide such a positive contribution?
-
Your relationship with your partners is very confusing. Having read your posts it seems that you have at least one boyfriend and several Boy Specials, and that's in Pattaya alone!

The charge referred to is nothing to do with International service charges. It is the charge applied by Credit Card companies to suppliers. Credit card companies do not believe that this should be passed on to customers but should come out of the suppliers profits, however I have regularly found, in Thailand, that smaller businesses pass this charge on to customers. Low profit margins perhaps excuse this??
-
But Earwig is writing it is "it is in the middle of all the gay bars" and you are saying it is not near the gay area"! That doesn't mean the same at all!! Unless the gay bars are not in the gay area! Am I missing something here?
-
Your point was well made Bkkguy, but inaccurate tabloid headlines seem to be in vogue here, unlike subtlety or irony. It sounds a great place but the geography is a little confusing, as Earwig writes "PJs is a very good Hotel just a bit from the market but in the middle of all the gay bars," while Stef writes "It is not near the gay area".

Common Courtesy eludes impatient Farang in Go-go-Bar
khaolakguy replied to ChrisUK's topic in Gay Thailand
I think that you are getting a little too hung up on the altruism angle. That was just given as one example of why the actions of the Usurping Farang are acceptable. I agree completely with Pete's point in reply to Chris, who considered that the Usurper is treating the guy less well than the Squatters Rights farang. How can anyone consider it better treatment to insist that a guy stays with you, even though you may not off him, rather than give him the freedom to earn his keep? I have only acted as the Usuper twice, as I recall, in a long career as a customer! On both occasions after receiving encouragement from the guy, I ascertained via the waiter that the Squatting Customer was not planning to off the guy, who subsequently joined me. I have on half a dozen or more occasions been "usurped", and been quite happy about it. Some of you guys are way too territorial about this, "I saw him first, so he is mine, if I decide at some point over the course of an evening that I want him"! -
Common Courtesy eludes impatient Farang in Go-go-Bar
khaolakguy replied to ChrisUK's topic in Gay Thailand
Yes, because he is only a customer of the bar at that point, and has no proprietoral control over the guy that he has asked only for a drink, at that point. I would of course ask the waiters or mamasan to check that the guy was interested. By the way I don't know why you feel able to dictate what "we" are talking about. Is this some exclusive club where "others" cannot widen the topic to include the views of the guys. Yes "guys", not "boys". Everyone professes, in threads other than this, their best intentions towards the guys, however it seems that where the guys best opportunity to get an off is concerned ,we are more motivated in maintaining some spurious protocol, than allowing him that freedom. Now that is self interest, smeared with hypocrisy! As I recall the opening post, Chris was mostly concerned with the bad manners of the Offer, in not being prepared to be gracious about it. I agree with Chris that that would be the best thing to do. However I have been in his situation, and if I have been chatting to a guy that I have not been intending to off, and if he has had the opportunity to do his job and earn an income, I have wished him good luck, and hoped that his punter would pay him well. And no, I haven't asked to be reimbursed for the drink or drinks that I have bought him!! How petty can you get? I know that El Toro is a bull, and I know that poo poo is a childs expression for shit, but what the conjunction of expressions means................oh, I got it, bull****. How quaint. -
It certainly helps me not to travel on NWA!

Indeed, sounds fascinating.

Common Courtesy eludes impatient Farang in Go-go-Bar

These bars are not cookie shops, or geisha bars, where you are paying for company. These are brothels where guys are in the shop window for sex. While the 100 Baht tip for the boy you have been boring for an hour is appreciated, he ain't going to be able to live on tips that size. Ladies, you sound like Victorian Gentlewomen at a Country House Ball with your "Rules of Engagement"! "Might I have the honour of the next waltz M'Lady Darcy" " I am sure that i would be delighted to accept if I can M'Lord Gaybutton. Please allow me to check my dancecard. Oh I must humbly apologise, as I can see that the most earnest Lord Blackadder has already booked me, and alas my dancecard is full for the rest of the evening too". You only have to look at the expression on the face of a guy who has spent an hour sitting with some farang, while he nurses his drink, and misses opportunities to be offed, to know that they are there to be offed, they want to be offed, and if you want to waste their time, at least have the decency to let them go off if there is a customer who definitely wants to take them. And be happy for them. Miserable old grouches. Just because you have bought a guy a drink, you think you have the right to monopolize him for the evening. -
And for night life in Seam Reap don't forget to visit Figo for good food, fun staff and internet access, Linga bar for more sophisticated ambience. Both of these are exclusively gay, and when they close take your new friends or go alone to Zone One, which is a mixed disco that is fun and open late, the area around the bar opposite the entrance is interesting.

But listening to, and reading the bitchings, is rather less fun! -
Nice post Gone Fishing.
-
If it was so distasteful to "watch" guys being jerked off, why did you stay in the bar so long, up to 40 minutes now?
-
What created this build up of bile and bitterness, one wonders?

Sorry Pete, I have been told that it is true, and that it has been generally attributed to an overdose of Ya Baa.
