I just hope that the information is not out of date by the time you finally get to make another trip to Thailand.
-
There seems to be a most ungracious lack of appreciation for Mr GayThailand and his contributions to this forum. I can only hope that having won this title in last years bodybuilding contest, that he continues to behave with the dignity necessary to someone crowned with this title, at least until this years competition is held, and a new winner crowned. Surely you have a photo Teewow?

And this is considered "ON TOPIC"!!! Perhaps we have more leeway than I understood.

That's quite an achievment!! I mean for your friend to be unable to find guys in a Third World Arab country, and one where the second language is English too! There may or may not be a gay scene there, did you read about the gay cruise on the Nile where everyone was arrested, but finding guys in the street or gyms in Cairo or Luxor was like picking apples from a tree, and I was only there for a week!

So do you rent then GB? It would be interesting to know many of the residents who post here rent or buy. And how many are within the allowable 49% foreigner ownership of condos, and how many bought through limited companies?

CB Richard Ellis Thailand urges property buyers not to panic The Thai branch of international real-estate and property-investment firm CB Richard Ellis has urged foreign property owners and prospective buyers of Thai real estate not to panic or abandon their interest because of proposed changes to the Foreign Business Act. It says they should focus on foreign quotas for condominium ownership and leasehold properties developed by well-known and established companies. http://www.nationmultimedia.com/breakingne...newsid=30024191

Oh Pleeeaaasssee. If ever a thread deserved to be closed THIS IS IT!! You have all had your chains pulled again and again by a professional troll.

"* From today, companies that are majority-owned by foreigners and their Thai nominees will have 90 days to report their ownership structures to the Commerce Ministry. Once the changes become law, these firms will have one year to reduce their foreign share ownership to below 49 percent." http://investing.reuters.co.uk/news/articl...HIP-FACTBOX.XML

And catching them can be quite entertaining.

Amongst all the experts on this forum, no one has an interest, a point of view, any anecdotal information, guidance??!! On a topic that must be of great importance to most expats and would be expats?
-
A link is the normally accpted way of acknowlefging the origin of the article. I too would prefer to discuss the contents, but let's get the basics right first!!

The correct link is: http://www.stickyrice.ws/?view=ilovechm The new Gay Pattaya landmark is ready by Suzy Size

Surely that should be "the publication for which I write"? Still it gives us an idea of the quality of the publication! Do you really think that your funds and time are best employed archiving your material?! Strange though that you didn't archive the reasons for being banned. I think that it had something to do with threats you made against other posters. I believe that there are special nutrients that can be helpful in countering short term memory loss, but they may not work in cases of selective memory loss.
-
Who is getting confused now??!! Just why were you banned from the Baht Stop forum? Strange that you and Earwig(subsequently reinstated) have that in common.

"One would take notice" But neither Bob nor I mentioned you dear, and you referred to both our posts! Funny you should assume that we we were referring to you. However if you feel the cap fits..............

I understand that lawyers and estate agents have long persuaded farang potential purchasers of property, that it is safe to do so under the guise of a limited company, in cases where they are unable to buy outright in their own name. This would certainly be the case in purchasing freehold houses, or condos where the 49% quota for foreign ownership has already been taken up, or in buying apartments that are not officially designated as condos. However it seems that there has been a sea change, this year, in the governments approach to these limited companies, that have been set up specifically to circumvent the law on foreign property ownership. It appears that there is an intention to investigate companies, that are not otherwise trading, eg having more than four paid employees, to examine whether they are in fact bona fide companies. One of the giveaways of front companies is having the same lawyers

Couldn't have put it better Bob! Unfortunately it also seems to be the same two or three posters, who drag their egos over every thread, until the topic and the sense are obscured.

Airport Tax Up "Again"? When was the last time that it was increased. Seems to me that it must have been over twenty years ago. Nothing in the article referred to justifies the "again". Perhaps the again refers to the recycling of news, as GB reported this back in September, but no harm to be reminded of it, as part of a positive post. As to the News Year bombings, they seemed to have caused little disruption in Bangkok, most major cities around the world have had them. As to the Raids, the only ones recently reported have been against Sunneee Bars, checking for underage prostitutes, something we all agree is a good thing, I'm sure. I don't think the the Coup has affected anyone here's day to day existence, just politics and jockeying for power. As for the early closing, I doubt that there is a city in Thailand where you can't find at least one venue to party till dawn.

"5 star" is a worldwide recognized standard in hotels, that everyone understands. To pretend otherwise is crass. Glad to see that Mary has a little lamb now.
-
Poseidon is NOT a five star hotel. It does not have the facilities that would make such a rating possible, least of all, as acknowledged, it does not have a swimming pool. It is a nice upmarket guesthouse. It is the only hotel in Pattaya in which I have stayed, on my last visit in the last few years, so I cannot comment on the others. Can't we just stick to a accuracy, without all this exaggeration?
-
Surprisingly, perhaps to both of us, I agree completely with your comments on how Earwig could be an asset if........................but it's a big ask.

CNN reports that the Thai Government has announced a reversal of the new policy after major losses on the Thai Stock Market, saying that overseas investors in Thailand will not be penalised.
