Chengdu and Chongqing
khaolakguy replied to ChristianPFC's topic in Gay China, Taiwan, Hong Kong & Macau
Anyone interested in Chengdu, and especially gay life there, might want to watch a documentary currently being released that focusses on an "underground" gay club there. The movie is titled The Last Year of Darkness and becomes available on MUBI this week. https://www.theguardian.com/film/2024/mar/12/the-last-year-of-darkness-review-chengdu-club-culture -
King’s son ‘Than On’ hints at return as he boards plane

Given the current rigorous use of the lese majeste rules I would suggest that speculation in this area should be discouraged. -
Percentage of Males who are circumcised in Each country
khaolakguy replied to floridarob's topic in The Beer Bar
Entertaining but take with a pinch of salt as the pinkish colour of Thailand suggests around one third of males are circumcised while, my research suggests a much lower proportion. I am willing to undertake more research and will be setting up a funding page to facilitate that. -
Bangkok-Ayutthaya steam train ride to mark birth of Thai railway
khaolakguy replied to reader's topic in The Beer Bar
Not quite sure why there is reference to a sleeper on a day trip, although catering for a nap and a fuck opportunity is always welcome! -
Wondering what these statistics are based on, as they are horrific. Perhaps I am clutching at straws for good news but I wonder if this is based on their clients rather that the wider gay population. Even so it would still be a very cautionary percentage. I've looked on their website but couldn't see details as to how they arrive at that percentage. Of course one should always assume that one's partner may be infected.

Humiliation in the title of this thread seems a little excessive. Surely just part of life's amusements?

Trip report - Koh Chang - 15Jan2024 - 18Jan2024
khaolakguy replied to bkkmfj2648's topic in Gay Thailand
Really interesting report, thank you. I always heard that the mosquitoes on Koh Chang were HUGE! And real bloodsuckers! Was that your experience? -
Re original gay bars in Patpong Two. I should have referred to Screwboys as the last remaining of the original gay bars on that street. It was nostalgic to visit anyway. Freshboys Had a drink there. More spacious than Screw Boys. 25 to 30 guys available on stage, a lot on stage at one time. Some 20 customers there too. Drinks 450 Baht. Brief show at 2215 with three sexy shows, big cock etc, and only one drag show with one performer(and no sign of any others waiting in the wings). Similar twinky types to Screwboys and bf thought that 30% of them were Vietnamese. Good playful atmosphere and if you are looking for gay boys this may be a good place to visit. One thing that we noticed was how light skinned the guys were in the bar(and in hindsight also in Screwboys). Really only one darker skinned guy there. It used to be that brown skinned guys were the majority, and guys from Isarn were much in demand. Perhaps there is a commercial motivation to satisfy Asian customer preferences for lighter skins, which is compounded by shortage of available local guys. Give me an Isarn guy anytime! Hotmale Also visited Hotmale, seemed to be around twenty guys, comfortable in their own skins and to be on stage, more guys on the hunky side than Freshboys or Screwboy. It’s a good layout and well lit/staged. Although we were shown to our ringside seats, we were never asked for our drinks orders, which was fine as we weren’t in a rush to drink more. Whole bar was focussed on an Asian table who were supplying drinks and 200 Baht to all the dancers and the waiters and then the doormen. And then anyone wearing Hotmale branded shirts. There may have been some swapping of clothes going on outside the door to allow others to benefit! After 15 minutes we left satisfied to have seen what was on offer and had a(much cheaper) drink at Dragon beer bar down stairs.

Happy to hear this. We've been enjoying guys from Arena for 25 years, both in house and as outcalls for repeats, so we won't get put off by our last experience. I do though see a trend for the standard of guys working there to have slipped a bit. There is just so much more competition for good and good looking masseurs than there used to be, and perhaps more working for themselves on line.

Arena Still no escalators working in the complex where Arena is sited, and only the rear lift working to take you to the third floor. We arrived shortly after opening time. Pleased to note that the old brown sofas that must have been there for twenty years had finally been replaced by new purple seating. We both chose two hour oil massages. 990 Baht each(paid afterwards but no change given as previously noted). There were a choice of four masseurs. Two were overweight and over age(40s?) two were of interest. I let my bf choose first a well built quite good looking man around 30 years old, and I took the younger guy, slim, broad shoulders. Neither quite delivered as planned. Bf’s guy gave a good massage although not using all the historic arena sensual techniques. After half an hour the masseur moved enthusiastically to blow job and was then asking to be fucked. Bf obliged then the massage resumed before masseur was back to a blow job and asking to be fucked again, and bf obliged again. Afterwards he felt that perhaps he should have been the recipient of the tip for his good service! My masseur, as we were just undressing started saying “I give good massage you give good tip”. This wasn’t encouraging and was repeated several times subsequently. The signs got no better when he started trying to put his finger in my hole after only ten minutes of the massage. Actually his massage skills themselves were 4/10 and his after massage skills turned out to be similar. The part of the experience to which he gave most effort was in washing me afterwards in the shower(in the room). Perhaps the motivation came from being close to tip time! This was probably the worst Arena massage I have had. Both masseurs received 2,000 Baht(minimum for 2 hours is 1,500). We also had to fill in the satisfaction questionnaire with the masseurs standing beside us, making it awkward! I just marked mine not as “Very Good” but just as “Good” where those alternatives applied. Hopefully that sent some signal that I wasn’t completely happy. By the time we left more masseurs had arrived but none inspired us to make a rapid return visit.

Prime Massage We had two excellent massages here, as normal. Simple rooms, well managed and staff well trained. I think it was two buildings when I was last there, but despite expanding to a third we had to book(and pay) 24 hours in advance and in person. Two hour Thai massage was 600 and one hour thai plus one hour oil was 800. Went to book again another day shortly after opening time. Found a queue already outside to make bookings for subsequent visits! Went back later when there wasn’t a queue to find that they are now booked out until 1stJanuary. Lots of cute young Chinese(from Taiwan?) waiting outside. BF now has fantasies of a new career as masseur at Prime but I have pointed out that he would never be able to keep his hands where they are supposed to be. Prime is a good demonstration of a well run business, holding their very reasonable prices and retaining the original quality of their product. Complete contrast to a young man sitting outside as the front man at one of the extra benefits places in the same soi. He seemed hopelessly confused by the idea of splitting a two hour session between thai and oil massages, even though we pointed out that it was one of the suggestions on their display boards. After several attempts we walked away. Perhaps the manager was at lunch. When those shops have so much competition for passing trade, it seems bizarre to have a front man who is unable to communicate in English. Wabi-Sabi Spa Having read good things on the Blowing Winds website, and in search of a good massage principally and not too bothered about extras we tried to book this spa. The number on their website answered but said that they “don’t do administration” but referred us to another number or their Line account. The landline went straight to ansafone and no one responded to the Line contacts. Oh well. Might as well go to Arena. There is always some one available there. And their massages are usually good. To be continued!

Short Bangkok Report Visited Screwboy last night. Around 25 mostly twink physique straightish boys. Quite a lot of eye contact and smiles with 45 minute show at 2200, with later shows at 2330 and 0100. Drinks 400 Baht. Tip given to Boy with nice smile and great six pack but no further engagement. BF not interested and mamasan(known from way back) was not encouraging, (“from Vietnam”). Too much less than basic quality drag content in the show, solo singers lip-syncing in sequins etc, each number greeted by cursory applause. Three elements in the show, say one third of the content, was male performers with “big cocks”(marginal in some cases) but it was the same five performers in each of the five minute segments, a couple of whom were past their prime and one of whom was not available for customers to off. Might go back, all pleasant enough, but on balance probably won’t return on this trip, although good to visit for nostalgia’s sake as it was the original Patpong Soi two gay bar, and was convenient to drop in after a meal at Le Bouchon, now moved to Sathorn area but still worth a visit. More to come.

My First Time in Bangkok - November 2023 Trip Report
khaolakguy replied to revengeboo's topic in Gay Thailand
I think it's the assumption that any Thai man in Soi Four is for sale that is offensive. Sadly that belief also discourages gay thai men who are not for sale from visiting and it becomes a self perpetuating myth. -
And is/was a solicitor?

That sounds like him, it's his MO, it's no surprise.

Taiwan man's unusually large 'package' proves his undoing
khaolakguy replied to reader's topic in The Beer Bar
Very brave and foolish! I still have a scar on my finger from a friendly otter, there is no way i would place one, let alone two, close to more sensitive parts. Of course "Taiwanese man with unusually large package" will always draw attention on a gay website! -
If Nice Boys are "going upmarket" does this mean that they use doilies to cover the cum stains?

how do i hire an escort in bangkok for multiple days?

Seriously? You track your guides when they have clients?! -
how do i hire an escort in bangkok for multiple days?
khaolakguy replied to lelele's topic in Gay Thailand
Actually it doesn't mean exactly that. "You may fuck them when you want", means you have the right to fuck them when you want. Reader correctly points out that's not necessarily true. You may be able to fuck them when you want, then again you may not, and some you may never be able to fuck at all! -
Amoxicillin is the cheapest/weakest antibiotic. If no effect you need to step up to Augmentin aka Co-Amoxiclav. Realistically any doctor at any hospital will make this step up but good to actually have an examination in case there are other issues.

On the other hand the mosquitoes there, who seem to be on steroids, are very fond of farangs(blood)

Sharing this link as it was updated last month and seems to provide interesting information, though our learned members may be able to advise on it's accuracy. https://www.klook.com/en-GB/blog/taipei_gay_bar/

1. Why do you think it is "mostly muslim" area? Not my experience nor statistically correct. 2. Even if it was a " mostly muslim" area that wouldn't necessarily make it less gay tolerant. I remember visiting a gay showbar on Phi Phi. Now that is a mostly muslim place. Just need to accept that not everywhere in Thailand is Pattaya, thankfully. Otherwise as everywhere in the world the provinces are more conservative than the capital. Has nothing to do with religion.

Have you been to any of these places before? You state that you have decided to live in Songkhla but don't mention whether you have ever been there before. You want to be near friends in Hatyai and Penang, but don't want to live in either of these places, so I wonder why? Don't get me wrong Songklha is a pleasant enough place(although I haven't been there for seven or eight years) but it seems a bit dramatic to say that you are going to live in a place of which you appear to have little knowledge. Regarding meeting local guys for sex it's Thailand so there are bound to be opportunities, even if in the absence of gay bars/gay massage venues. Actually I wouldn't be put off living in Penang either. Georgetown is great, I had an ex from there, and there are venues that advertise as gay friendly. Historically it's the most liberal part of Malaysia(it helps being an island) and hasn't been too impacted by whatever the latest edict is from KL. Friends have reported great cruising on the beaches with westerners being much sought after.
