Wow, that does sound fun! Last year I went to check out the top floor terrace at SO which has good cocktails and a great view at dusk across Lumpini.

I am not surprised to see Rome Fiumicino in the top ten. I recently transited there and was impressed by how friendly and helpful everyone was. The ITA lounge was great! Actually I was surprised what an overall step forward ITA had taken compared to the old Alitalia.

I have found Tops to be great and their delivery service is reliable.

Do you guys realise how important is to shake hands in the correct way? What is the correct way? Did anyone teach you? Did anyone take offence?

This suggests that it could be submitted up to three days after arrival, but I thought that it needed to be submitted up to three days prior only. Although to be fair I haven't been concentrating as it will be at least three months before I enter again. I am sure that as you advise, we are all interested to hear how it actually works in practice.

Are they sure this factory wasn't in India as Mr Know-It-All assured us........

Arrest two for stealing passengers' cash on flight to BKK

So Mr Wang stole some stang from Mr Trang! -
Agreed that this is an enjoyable walk and good to see life in the city from a different height perspective. The maps above are very helpful.

Pattaya Beertique beer garden takes over Hooters site

I didn't realise that Tahitian Queen was still going, amazing. I must have visited over several years about 40 years ago. I had a good time there on several visits, good music(not live), friendly, no hosts so neither gay nor straight, and with a great view out over the beach from a cool air conditioned interior. I will give it another try next time I am in town. -
What learned people we are lucky enough to have on this forum. Thank you for your Burmese history lessons. Much appreciated. Just goes to show that there is never only one version of history, but it is always good to find a common narrative, where possible. No one interpretation of historical events is ever 100% correct. Back to the whoring........ Looking forward to the next instalment from CallMeLee.......

Arrest warrant issued for US academic under ban on insulting royalty
khaolakguy replied to reader's topic in The Beer Bar
Seeing articles about this case from other non-thai sources I think that we are best to be circumspect with our comments(not least for the sake of this forum). I have decided not to add links to those articles, although Mr Google will doubtless assist. -
The same person, according to his account anyway.
-
I don't believe that is "thinking in the Thai way", but, as you previously hinted, it is about protecting the status quo and the guilty from accountability. I don't believe that this is about a national mentality, but about a corrupt system which is not unique to Thailand or Asia. Roll on the revolution(s)!
-
Agreed, this should be public information.
-
Doesn't sound like you know much about Thailand or have done much reading on this or other gay Thailand forums. In these circumstances I wouldn't advise retiring to Thailand as you might become a member of the notorious PFC.
-
It should be simple but why do I feel like this is being rushed in. The system is currently only in Beta, but comes into effect at the end of the month with passengers, airlines and immigration being expected to be on top of it.

No shame is a national characteristic.

Old bones at MRT site hint at ancient executions
khaolakguy replied to reader's topic in The Beer Bar
Old bones are always interesting. A Roman war grave has just been found under a football pitch in Vienna! https://edition.cnn.com/2025/04/04/science/mass-grave-roman-soldiers-austria-intl-scli/index.html -
Confirm use of substandard steel in collapsed high rise
khaolakguy replied to reader's topic in The Beer Bar
Well it's certainly the most well known project of China Railway now! Moses seems to have gone quiet on his previous accusations of racism towards someone raising the possibility of Chinese culpability! -
So lucky that all the tourists were off the boat when it exploded.

Ah bless Thethaiger and their Editors! Water 4 metres deep but almost dry, did they mean the water was 4 centimetres deep? Or was the canal 4 metres deep and almost dry. Anyway seems a sad/interesting story with the wife saying that the dead man had alzheimers, and she didn't suspect foul play. However she also said that the dead man had difficulty walking and needed a walker at all times.............. No mention of a walker being found and police state that the route from their home to the place of discovery was "extremely difficult to traverse". Awaiting the results of the autopsy........ https://thethaiger.com/news/national/thai-police-suspect-foul-play-in-death-of-missing-austrian-man

You need a pointer that get's attention to clarify which stamp is under discussion.

Confirm use of substandard steel in collapsed high rise
khaolakguy replied to reader's topic in The Beer Bar
Not sure why anyone would be so determined to exclude even the possibility of Chinese negligence in this tragedy. The link provided does not state as claimed that the steel was manufactured in India, or that Xin Ke Yuan Steel has it's roots in India. Not exactly an Indian name! -

China Railway also seems to have a history of corruption issues. -
Pattaya’s love-hate relationship with illegal Myanmar workers
khaolakguy replied to reader's topic in Gay Pattaya
That is interesting, and the extent of it surprising. I wonder if it correlates with the proportion of the population who are LBGT..
