  1. I left Pattaya in March and things were returning to normal then. In brief: Sunne Plaza very quiet. See other reports about Gogo bars there. Boyztown, was also quiet although I read that Gogo bars have reopened. I would hope things there have improved. Jomtien Complex. Thriving. At least 30 bars open in March. Numerous massage parlours operating. At least 3 or 4 bars with shows. JC highly recommended. Are you really going there for one night??
  2. I have used Pattaya Limo for a number of years. Always on time and 100% reliable no matter what time of day or night. Don’t let the word Limo put you off, it’s a good clean taxi! I will be using them on my next trip in August. Airport to Pattaya 1300 plus tip. https://www.thelimopattaya.com/booking/
  3. Z 909 is right. Use Bolt Taxis (cars not motor bikes). For those not in the know it is a new version of Uber. I used them many times to travel all over the area and from my condo (near Sunne) to Jomtien was 60 baht. The same price as a motor bike taxi. Agreed it may rise. Car always arrived within 2 or 3 minutes and of course is door to door, unlike baht buses.
  4. I have been many times in June and July. Little bit of rain but nothing to worry about and doesn’t disrupt anything. Dont forget Jomtien Complex (the new centre of gay life in Pattaya) now has a tin roof over it...so no problems in the proper rainy season (September).
  5. Do not use Agoda to book The Agate. They charge £37 which is 1591 Baht. I have just booked a room direct with them by email for 1000 Baht per night. A big difference!

As described above. A few tips did the trick. He got the message!

The boxing ring and the bars you are talking about are on the left as you walk into the Pattaya Beer Garden...which does superb food...and overlooks the bay. Excellent venue. The Pattaya Beer Garden is still open but those bars have been refurbished and the boxing ring has gone. I also offed one of the boxers from there about 10 years ago!
  8. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Jomtien_Resort_Hotel_fire This tragedy occurred in Jomtien. The site is on the left as you reach the beach walking down from Jomtien Complex.
  9. So are many other things nowadays. Take for example a small Singha Beer, in a beer bar. Usually 100 baht in Pattaya. That’s approx £4.40 per pint. Same as UK prices. Probably more in BKK. Bangkok Gogo bar drink prices are way in excess of western bar prices!
  10. And good to see that masks and social distancing appears to be ignored.
  11. Their Facebook site hasn’t been added to for 15 months...it also says open from 23.00 to 08.00. And the hours on the chart look odd. Is it really open until 08.00 these days? And why no comments since March 2021?
  12. Nonsense. That’s not what the rules say. Never believe what you read! This is what has been said: “Customers over 60, pregnant, or at-risk are “suggested” to not go to entertainment venues due to the risk of Covid-19.” See here for discussion....https://www.gaybuttonthai.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10961
  13. A combination of reasons: 1. In the next few months (July and August) flights always go up. UK family holiday season. 2. Many people haven’t been abroad for a couple of years and may have some money to spare. Airlines are taking advantage of this. Overall, if you can avoid the high season, prices in Economy aren’t too bad.
  14. Two of my favourites: Robin Hood. Upstairs at The Avenue shopping centre. Maybe avoid on Sundays as it is full of people having the Sunday Lunch. (All day). Very good. https://www.facebook.com/Therobinhoodpattaya/ Natans in Jomtien. On the left as you go down towards the beach. Excellent. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g293919-d1500638-Reviews-Natan_s-Pattaya_Chonburi_Province.html
  15. TIT ...wait until it’s officially announced!
  16. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To quote a very old and well used statement.
  17. What happened to the Nice Boys beer bar, in the old Forest House? Is it still open?
  18. Silipline Isaan (Sp) on a Third Road was open when I left about 6 weeks ago.

  23. Before Covid there were about 9 Gogo bars in Pattaya. Most have been closed for the last 2 years. I understand from other forums that the following ones have allegedly reopened although I have yet to see many reports. I doubt they are the same as before Covid. Nice Boys, X Boys, Dream Boys, Boyz Boyz Boyz, A Bomb, Winner.
  24. If you have never been to Pattaya it is a must. If only to see the gay scene there. Have you considered a condo instead of a hotel? There are many available in Pattaya for short term rent. Rates at the movement are very reasonable. In March I was paying 550 baht per night all in. If you are considering a long stay as you say, then Pattaya would fit the bill. Plenty to do during the day, beaches, Malls (yuck!) and other attractions. In the evening many bars, Massage places, restaurants etc., and plenty of boys available. Hopefully some of the gogo bars will be open again soon according to some posts on the net. And prices are much lower than Bangkok. Some of us spend months there from November through to March.
